Neville was and is my hero. despite being made fun of constantly, he never forgot that he is a person, and he is important. standing up to voldemort takes gut, especially when he's standing right in front of you. think about taking all your greatest fears, wrapping them into one and adding the woman who (basically) killed your parents. Standing up to that takes bravery, courage and everything a gryffindor is. I don't care for harry and ron. i want to marry neville!!!

Just because Luna and Neville don't end up married doesn't mean that they couldn't have had a short relationship. I mean, they were good friends regardless. I'm a huge HP book fan and I'm not one to stretch the canon but I see no reason to hate on the Neville/Luna relationship.

I always thought that this song could either be Harry/Luna or Neville/Luna. I honestly that Luna would be a much better girl for Harry. In OotP when Harry was in a rage, she was the only one that was able to calm him down. She could see the thestrals and hear the voices beyond the veil. Both of them have had true horrors in their past, and I think they should have ended up together.

@amyct1 I know that they aren't a couple in the books, but Dean and Luna aren't mentioned to be together in the books, either. So it all comes down to imagination. I personally think of Luna and Neville as the perfect couple. There is nothing in the books which would make this impossible.

Actually she didn't do it for publicity. A line in the script in the sixth movie was Dumbledore talking about a girl he used to like. JK Rowling talked to the writers and told them that Dumbledore was gay so he wouldn't have liked a girl. Also, the reason Dumbledore was so lenient towards Grindelwald's extremist beliefs was because he was romantically in love with him, which Grindelwald manipulated to his advantage. It is hinted in the books, and she didn't out him for publicity.
