I saw this group way back when at Merriwether Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. However, Robt. Palmer's record company would not allow him to tour with the group so we were treated to some curly-haired git trying to imitate Robt. What a fuckin' abortion that was. I wanted my money back...They Taylor boyz were in fine form.

I really like this longer version. This is an amalgamation of several different groups, each bringing their expertise and special brand of magic to this song. R.I.P. Tony Thompson ... one of the great drummers.
My best friend from junior high school (or middle school) had an obsession with spitting, so when he heard the guitar riff, he'd go "spit spit, spit spit spit!"
Duran Duran split up into Power Station(John and Andy Taylor) and Arcadia( Simon Lebon and Nick Rhodes) with Roger Taylor playing drums for both groups.
I still listen to this album...26 years later. It never get's old. And this piece is one of the few covers that I actually like better than the original. Props to T-Rex though.
This is the original album version. There was a 12" single, but the mix was the same as the album. The 45 Mix was also on the 12" single along with Go To Zero.
I love everything about this version of the TRex classic. Robert Palmer's vocal blows it away fantastic musicians also.

The production is just insane. The drums are so incredibly loud, even to this day. Insane. Beautiful.

@SavvyJedi but Robert Palmer made Power Station a million times better

@SavvyJedi
The drummer for the group Power Station is Tony Thompson from the group Chic who is playing drums on this song.

@SavvyJedi Tony played most of the drums, but Roger did contribute to the album on some tracks.
