nakano was more real to me as anime culture then akihabara. but some parts of akihabara are real to me as anime culture. it reminds me of late 90's anime culture.
Nice video! I love the Broadway Building. But what's up with the goofy pronunciation of "Nakano" if you clearly understand Japanese? Besides that, the interviews were great.

I purposely avoid using Japanese pronunciation when speaking English because it just sounds forced and smacks of elitism to me, especially when my Japanese is far from native level. Perhaps think of this way: Japanese media insists on using Katakana-pronounciation for countries, loanwords, etc. I don't see much harm between them and I sticking to our respective ways of speaking.
I see your point about the katakana pronunciation. Actually, you first pronounce "Nakano Station" properly and then switched to "Nakaano" after that. I wouldn't see it as elitist to give the proper pronunciation though, actually it would be helpful for those going to Japan. I remember how silly I felt when I was asking directions to "Asakoosa" in the subway instead of Asakusa. I didn't know about the silent "u". I'm hoping to go back to Nakano again this year. It's more intimate than Akihabara.
