  • Hi Titli, I think my apple chutneys come out a bit too sour perhaps. I used Red Wine Vinegar, could that be the problem? Any quick fixes I can use? :) Its a gift to my girlfriends dad , and just one part of a whole ensemble of recipes of yours that Im using this Christmas! :) Cheers

  • @kafcin Apple chutney should be a good balance between sweet and sour. I use vinegar which is 8% acetic acid...

  • @TitliNihaan I see, in that case could I use a whole lot of sugar in an attempt to balance it out? Thanks for replying! :)

  • @kafcin Might be a bit sweet :-/

  • but titli, what variety of apples did you use?

    ;)

  • Pass some thickly sliced ham, that looks delicious.

  • I cannot understand how you never made it through to the Youtube Next Chef programme..... you really deserve it in my opinion!!

  • Looks awesome, I'm going to makw it

  • if you "leave that for a few months" won't it grow bacteria or mold??

  • @werewasyo It will if you put it in a dirty jar and leave it open to the air.

  • i would eat that on pork sausage rolls

  • @acf870 Apples and pork go really well together

  • I love this idea!! Great for little holiday gifts. Thank you so much!

    Pam

  • i don't think i've ever tried a chutney before, the thought of brown sugar + fruit + ONIONS baffles me =S so is it like a jam that you can eat alone or like a spread (you said to eat it with cheese and meat, but i'm still worried) XD i might try it with less quantities just to try it out *_* thank you for this!

  • @renoa0heartilly It's also known as a pickle or a relish. Cheese and Pickle (or Cheese and Chutney if you prefer) are classic British sandwiches!

  • I dont why but my favorite part of your videos is when you show/tell us all of the ingredients

  • I'm crazy enough. I'm just saying.

  • I'LL BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR!

  • This reminds me of granny apple fries I had with whipped cream and cinnimon yummy

  • what is a chutney titly ? :0

  • @lylgabby99 It's what I've shown you. A combination of fruit, onions (usually) and spices to make something that is good with cheese, cold meats, burgers...

  • is raising are necessary to add?

  • @l3ad3r1 No. Add chopped dried apricots or prunes instead if you like.

  • In case anyone's interested, they appear to be fuji apples

  • @BlackWolf4830 I'm interested!

  • @TitliNihaan Never mind, I retract that. They look like fuji apples, but there are several apples that also look like that. Apparently, there are 7000 kinds of apples

  • you should cook stuff and sell it too. but make sure to the expiration date on it.

  • And here's a tip for you, from Viz magazine of all places. If you want some jars to pot up your chutney, don't waste your money buying brand new jars. Just go to Morrisons, buy a load of their value curry sauce at 9p / jar and simply tip the rancid muck down the toilet, wash the jars et voila!

  • Yay!! I got 2 ordered happy days x

  • You said at the end that you should left them for awhile because it will taste better, but I was wondering in the frig out on the counter (pantry)?

  • @ataylorai1 On the counter is OK providing you sterilised your jars and they are completely sealed

  • Titli I love your vids esp ur best vindaloo recip and ive made the cheesy Choobs x2 do you have any callanders left?

  • @morvenm00n Only a few!

  • A beautiful chutney! Oh yes, many people would buy this. Thanks for this recipe; just what I have been looking for!!

  • How many jars did you get out of that?

  • I can imagine how many people would rage with you trying to sell your jam. Hahahaha

  • Could we see how your garden looks like?: 3

  • HEREEEE!!! ME! I'D BUY IT TITLLLLLIIIIIII

  • i would

  • ur garden is not a small one...u have a lot of things growing there!!!! :P lucky u!

  • Titli, Titli, can I leave the raisins out?!!!

No, seriously can I? Because I only like them uncooked and on their own. Or maybe there is something I can substitute them with?

  • @oLynxXo I guess you could leave them out. Try adding some other dried fruit like chopped apricots!

  • @TitliNihaan Apricots actually sound pretty good, I'll try that. Thank you!

  • I can't seem to find the "buy it now" button :(

  • what variety of apples are they??? lol

  • I would buy some!!

  • Was that a Virginia Woolf reference?

  • many small pots are better... if using bigger pots and if it happens that dirty spoon get in there by mistake, then it might reduce its shelf-life....

  • EXTREME COOKING

  • Autre utilisation pour tes pommes Titli : chasser d'éventuels intrus ! On te l'avait proposée cette idée ?

  • 200th :D

  • Vinegar, sugar and apples? What dark sorcery is this....

  • You should sell your canned goods. If I wasn't in Panama, I would buy it.

  • Need a bigger pot. I bought a bigger one for that reason. I thought I'd tell you.

  • @BeeRich33 I have a bigger pot but it's TOO big. I need an intermediate-sized pot :-)

  • ! Yum all up :o)
