This was supposed to be the last year of childhood for me, however, my family ran into devastating issues and I looked back to one year ago and realized something. Just because of those things, I am nothing like I once was. I grew up. Events force you to grow up so fast.Hold on to the days and seconds you have, they can be torn away from you at any moment. Sadly even when the issues are settle I do not think I will get my childhood back.

@97azeb Nothing's wrong with that. It's a sad song about how short life is, but I find myself smiling when I hear it because it's such a great song. Nobody said it's a happy smile, though. It's a sad smile in which I remember the great times I've had and how they'll never ever come back the exact same way. I think of the chances I've taken, and those I missed.

@97azeb nothing wrong about a song making someone smile. my best friends father was dieing in a hospital and he would listen to various songs(including this one) and smile and laugh, so was there something with him? or was he just enjoying the beautifl song.

@97azeb Nothing's wrong with that. It's a sad song about how short life is, but I find myself smiling when I hear it because it's such a great song. Nobody said it's a happy smile, though. It's a sad smile in which I remember the great times I've had and how they'll never ever come back the exact same way. I think of the chances I've taken, and those I missed.
Point is, to smile at a song like this isn't at all bad.

I listen to a lot of music, a lot of different styles and flavors of music; new, old and in-between. This song, though, is sticking in my mind and heart. It won't fade and won't be dislodged by anything else, no matter how wonderful. Maybe it's the place I am in my life: 47, with a 22 year old daughter and a 15 year old son, both of whom like the song, too.
Anyway, this song speaks to me. It stays with me. Some days, it haunts me.
Life goes fast.
