@felstfeed are you having a laugh mate, ak47 with fmj on mw2 was absolutely insane. it might feel abit shit because they had to balance the game as much as possible and the high recoil helps do that. they balanced the assault rifles perfectly, any weapon with high damage like the type 95 drops to a 5 hit kill to compensate for the two hit up close kill.

Why do they ALWAYS call it the ak-47?

The ak-47 has NEVER been in a cod game, the model in game has always been that of a AKM, or AK74, and debatably the ak100-109, or ak200 in MW2 and 3.

I dont think the AK-47 has that much recoil. The aimer jumps substancially, but if u watch carefully it always recenters before each shot. Its kind of like an opticle illusion because it looks like it has recoil when it really doesnt.

@ps31871 The suppressor doesn't reduce recoil in any way. It eliminates muzzle flare, which the is light that comes out of the gun when you shoot.

The suppressor makes it so that your 3 hit kill range is reduced to close range, which is silly since this is one of the best midrange rifles.

@JarheadM4A1 No, without any rails you wouldn't be able to fit any type of optic or under-mounted attachments. The rails and stock are there to make the gun more modular. Same with the M4A1, the iron sights are called S-system, they don't get in the way of the rail like the stock iron sight, and it's been outfitted with rails instead of a hand guard.

It's cheap to make, doesn't break, ever, but the recoil is heavy, fire rate slow, and accuracy isn't very manageable, in any sense. Cost is the only reason why so many militias, rebellions, and regimes throughout the world are armed with it.

@TeriyakiNinja1 The real ak.47 is like that, but the ak-47 is pretty much not in use now, at this moment the most used ak version is the AKM which is like a remake of the previous version and that one does share that kind of characteristics.

But I think that in mw they only use the "AK-47" as a name for the weapon in the game and it is more recognizable than for example "AK-104" which haves less recoil and it is more likely to be the one in mw3 as it is the weapon that the russian army uses atm

Also take in consideration that most western assault rifles use the 5.56mm NATO while most AK-series have the 7.62x39 mm, which does pack more punch.

The weapon might be hyped, but I think it is not as hyped if we take into consideration the things I just posted.

Modern AK variants are far more modern in their construction and still maintain the rugged characteristics that makes the line famous. Also, the MW3 AK47 isn't an AK 47 at all, it's an ultra modern AK 74.
