Wow, I am suprised Angel lived after a bloody battle with that cougar. I don't think any more cougars will come to that home again with Angel around. Thats why I love dogs. They are more than man's best friend, they are Angels. Dogs will do anything in their power to protect their owner's. So we should do evrything in our power to protect animals too.

20 minutes of fighting? Do they not have a gun to defend their property? Things happends, I understand. But you CAN prevent things like this. Even a high velocity pellet gun would have detered that cat... GREAT DOG, great story. But to let your dog fight a cougar for 20 min and not help it, really? It wasnt like it was a pit bull, rotweiler, doberman or the likes....

too bad that dog wasn't a 170lb Sarplaninac. would have shocked the shit outta that big cat when it inflicked major pain compared to a 80-90lb retreiver. these dogs are MONSTERS, anywhere you have mountain lions,wolves,coyotes, i recommend one of these things,hell their fur is so thick a mountain lion would have a hard time making contact with skin with it's canines and just get a mouthful of fur,1 of these killed a 60lb coyote in central florida in under 60 seconds,they're beasts

@amelia1146 when he got inside he could of got stuff from inside the house & thrown it at the cougar. and the mum was also inside, they would have a shot gun or something because of the place they live? she could shoot it. all in all they could have done something, they're lucky that dog is still alive & is brave enough to risk its life for its owner.

@kachekieran No, it's not just you. I agree that the cougar made a big mistake in it's dinner choice, but I also see the cougars side of the argument. How would you like it if a cow attacked you because of your roast beef sandwhich? I know that it sounds cold and I'm not trying to be. I have 3 kids and if it were me I know that my panic would have gotten the best of me, but I would have felt terrible about it later. The dog is amazing and I'm glad she made it, but still sad for the cougar.
