  • seeing how the blast affects the camera, you have my sympathies for your shoulder!!!!

  • Badass manly Gun

  • lol i thought this was going to be like a 2 hour video, and what's with the fishing guy??

  • wicked

  • where did you get the barrel i plan on makeing a double barrel 50bmg

  • @chieffy35 I got the barrel from a surplus seller called Cole distributing. It was a surplus M3 barrel (not M2, not a typo)

  • R E S P E C T

  • U are absolutely Crazy!! I like It.. :D

  • wy u mak one of those?

  • @Samsv1 because I couldn't afford to buy one

  • do you fire the rifle normally now? it looks pretty strudy to me. i would trust how about you?

  • do you fire the rifle normally now? it looks pretty strudy to me. i would trust how about you?

  • @CJLongoproduction09 I trust it completely now. But at $4 per shot, my wallet hurts more than my shoulder

  • Man...I love .50....

  • O.O

  • are you home made 50 bmg rifles for sale

    if thay are how much

  • @firewoodguy2009 federal law allows me to build my own gun but without an ffl I could never sell it

  • Lol at the Brits....they come on youtube to look at guns. When they could stand up and get there own back.

  • haha the best part is when hes realin something in

  • I dare you to shoulder and fire it :)

  • rockwell 38. i take it your a machienist?

  • @outdoorsmike yes a machinist professionally and hobbywise

  • Your audio is all messed up.

  • what is the gun mounted on so you can fire it from a distance??

  • ik zie zeevis

  • in home made rifles most parts is machined, the only problem is to get surplus H2 barrel in decend condition

anyone knows good surplus shop whitch sells them??????

  • If you fire that thing from shoulder position without the proper recoil reducing mechanisms you better be ready to kiss your arm goodbye lol

  • 50 cal big muthafuckin gun lol

  • nice gun love the end on the fishing part lol

makeing guns is no jokeing matter a 30.06 as about 52,000psi so dont skimp on parts make it by a factor of 3 (3 times sronger then it needs to be) i have made a few guns but never shot them i just build them take some pics and take it apart the only gun i did not take apart is my first gun its simple and it works (only fired primers with it) there fun but wach out there bombs

  • very good gun youtube needs more vids on good guns not ones that use fireworks and weak steel or coper pipe im gessing you built it from a surch on the web and found some plans because i have seen this gun in a book plans and all or something like it

a 30.06 puts out 52,000psi so makeing guns is no jokeing matter if your going to make it make it by a factor of 3 you wont think its cool when your hand is gon and your full of steel pipe and wood

just a warning fo the ones that try

  • wow i have 50 bmg seak.

  • dude teach me

    nice work

    five stars

  • well tell you the truth if this was a novice they could of blown some ones head off.

safty part first of all there is no protective screen or blast screen if this bullet were to ricker and blown though the side it could resalt in some one die. for thoes who attempt it. thats from a safty point of view my personal point is verry nice indeed its a pitty you couldnt have a nice high speed cam and a tracer round oh sorry about bad spell nice gun tho :)

  • wtf lmao so random it swiches over to fishing lolz luv it

  • Шняга

  • nice boat :D

    oh,and great rifle XD

  • SPRAWL....! Why wasn't JAck Black holding out a pack of cigarattes out when ya were test firing this beast?

  • nice gun did it cost less then a m82

  • homemade+rifle=me watching :)

  • is that a self drilled barrel or just buyed ?

  • lol

  • WOW THATS STRONG!!!

  • the fishing part made me laugh out loud lol....just outa nowhere he's fishin'! LMAO

  • how is this legal?

  • Blast so powerful blew the camera out to sea...

  • lol

  • lol

  • LOOL good one (Y)

  • lol

  • haha i love it

  • where did you get all the parts? such as the barrel and action?

  • It's pretty easy to make them if you have the machining tools and know how.

  • he made them...

  • @AdmiralGST There is a book and DVD that Paladin Press sells that explains all that. Most parts are home made and the barrel is a surplus Browning. Price on the barrel runs from about $125 to 300, depending on condition.

An old man made a video on how to make it (in his home shop), but then everyone was complaining they could see well enough, not parts listings, measurements, etc, so he came out with a very good book that follows the video.

  • OMG ! Where do you get one of those fishing boats with the built in shooting range ???????

    i want one !!

  • its a NRA commemorative fishing boat. the worst part is if you miss, then you swim home

  • @sweetypie000 What you mean to say is

"OMG ! Where di you get one of those shooting ranges with the built in fishing boat ???????

    i want one !!"

  • @sweetypie000 lol

  • I am currently working on a .75 caliber rifle that will put the old .50 to obsolescence.

  • as long as it doesn't kill the user, lol

  • GG 10 year old, i think .75 is an artillery shell, not a bullet :P

  • nice work man..great test..now I gotta see the one where your holding...

  • that aint no BMG thats a BFG!

  • BMG stands for big motherfucking gun lol

  • lol random fishing trip clip

  • wow that is cool

  • fucking McGyver...

  • This was some crazy video. Impressive job on building a .50 rifle, but are you going to dare fire that thing while you're beside it? I'd have my last will and testament completed before I did. Extra credit on the random fishing clip in the middle, too. Ha!

  • is this supose to look like a Dream cuz Its wierd, the sound. and uhm the camera falls and your in paradise fishin then back to war ! :P

  • the camera fell from the shockwave of firing and when I transferred it to my PC it had a bit of an old recording on it. I thought it was funny and left it in.

So far 50 people have complained about it.

and around 90 people have come here to only remark how very long the video is listed as, which I have no clue why that happened.

  • with no muzzle and brake or recoil dampeners it must have a huge ass recoil when fired off of the table

  • i got a k98. is that Wat trigger u used for. when i bought it came with a new stainless steel bolt. the thing is just mint

  • yes an aftermarket trigger from brownells

  • why did you use poplar

  • because it's cheap and has a really fine grain which makes it cut nicely

  • Awesome. Wish I could make my own guns...they'd explode in my face ahaha

Have you tried making a muzzle break for this? One of my buddies tried shooting a Barret big .50 without its muzzle break an had a nice purple shoulder for a month.

  • yes it had a muzzle brake but it was very ineffective. I've made a new one but I'm waiting to purchase a headspace gauge before i shoot it again.

  • There are 124 different types of bullets fo the .50 cal.All are currently available except the depleted uranium round. So,you still have 123 choices.

  • Fucking sweet. Awesome job.

Nice to make your own considering the price of .50's

  • 5/5 for your machine work, but it would be cool video if you had a closeup of the gun in good light, and didn't have the wierd, loud static garble at the end.

You should use hearing protection, esp under that metal canopy.

  • lol dident blow up

  • Woah nicely made! But tell me something, have you been able to get an overpressure round to proof test it? I'm not sure of the logistics of it so you'd have to consult others with knowledge in the field but it might be a good idea to do so.

  • no. Since the barrel was already pressure proofed (confirmed with a gov. stamp) my only concern was the bolt. I figure after ten rounds and no discernable deflection, cracking or warping, I was good to go.

  • I have a question you live in great briton right so where do you get the 50.cal ammo from?Black market?

  • uh no i live in the U.S.

As a licensed gun owner, I can go to a local gun shop and buy powder, shells, primers, whole cartidges, guns and sweet shooting glasses.

  • like oakly radars like i have

  • you are SO lucky, here in the UK we arn't even allowed a knife over 3.5 inches. You would be arrested if you got caught with an air rifle even. 7 years instance jail for a shotgun.

Years ago before the stupid laws took away our liberty i owned a Cody 5 pump action, a magnum single 12 bore and a 410 poachers shotguns, sob :( those days long gone we are not allowed to bear arms.

I so miss shooting sh1t up.

Slip in a shell for me buddy

    :(

  • sorry for your plight. Sounds like it time for another 'Guy Fox' to straighten the Guv'ment out. Good luck.

  • I'm pretty sure you mean 'Guy FAWKES' but... maybe you're talking about a little red mammal i dunno... :) nice gun BTW

  • geez you brits can't spell anything right :p

    i stand corrected.

  • I persume that your a gunsmith?

I would be deathly afraid to shoot that thing...

  • crazy how you made that on autoCAD

  • Good job and smart to test that way. Why did you use poplar wood and not synthetic, oak or something harder for the stock? Anyway, vote Pro gun in NOVEMBER. If the DemocRATS have their way, we won't be left with anything. Even the 10/22 is on their list of "assault weapons" to ban. McCaine 08 (the lesser of the evils)

  • Most people completely waste their spare time on failed projects and the projects they do complete is totally useless. Well you made 50 caliber rifle, so I have no right to talk shit about how you spend your weekends. Nice rifle. Whats the legal requirements that comes along with building a rifle? I'm sure you had to go through some red tape to get that done.

  • Trojan, you don't have to go through any "red tape" to build your own firearm...so long as you don't make it a business to sell them. Otherwise the law permits you to build as many (non-automatic) as you like.

  • the only thing about home-made .50 rifles is that the recoil is too much. the Barrett M82A1 has an advanced spring system which allows it to reduce the recoil by alot.

  • man i just fired my homemade .50 blackpowder musket at a lump of clay the size of a human arm and it went straight through and exploded the clay and then went through a piece of sheetmetal punching a nice little dished cricle from it which i found embedded in the 2x4 the clay was resting on, and that was with a 148 grain roundball and 50 grains of BP. although im sure your .50 is both more powerful and more accurate, but i do waht i can with what i have.

  • Very neat project gun! I love custom .50 bmg rifles. I saw a single-shot rifle over the weekend, 35 lbs, stainless & walnut. Resembled the ruger No. 1 Very pretty.

  • Very neat project gun. I love custom .50bmg's. Saw a single-shot .50bmg over the weekend, stainless & walnut around 35 lbs. Very cool!

  • Nice!! Are you using 50 BMG in that weapon? And have you fired it from the shoulder?

  • Yes is it chambered for .50 BMG. I have fired it about a half dozen times in the prone position, against the shoulder and not bolted to anything. This taught me that my muzzle brake is extremely inefficient and is the reason why the rifle is in pieces and a new muzzle brake is being fabricated.

  • nice one, your very talented. good video

  • So basically, you didn't make it. You just cut the wood...

  • uh no. I chambered the barrel, cut threads for both the receiver and muzzle brake. I also cut the entire bolt and receiver from solid stock using manual lathes and mills. I also made the firing pin carrier and cocking mechanism and designed the entire design on autocad from A to Z.

  • where there is a will there is a way

  • no where there is a mill their is a lathe

  • man thats brilliant, i've yet to graduate past homemade muskets, one question, did you make the barrel yourself? and if so how did you rifle it?

  • no the barrel is military surplus (M3). I did have to cut new receiver threads on it and rechamber. I don't have the tools to gun drill and rifle a blank.

  • WTF AT 1:51

  • in my post editiing, i found this on the camcorder and left it in. I thought it was funny.

  • did any one else have a random guy fishing between shots four and five

  • hey get it right!! It was a random drunk guy fishing.

  • NICE!! very cool, man.

  • the shots look like an implosion not like a shot (ok .50 is not a normal caliber)

  • I passed my c.o.r.e a couple days ago, and to celebrate my stupid dad took me to go shooting; have you shot a Desert Eagle? his friend just so happened to have one, my wrist is now in a cast :( I hate my dad, this thing would be like 100x worse. what kinda of hunting is possible with this? wouldn't u lose a large chunk of the victim-I mean animal.

  • i'm not familiar with C.O.R.E. i'm assuming it's your state's version of a personal protection course. I wouldn't go hunting with it because of its length and insane weight. But if you did shoot a deer, the round would most likely destroy the internal organs from the shock wave but would exit the body cleanly like most FMJ rounds.

  • I just took my C.O.R.E. It's basically just a hunting course with some gun safety. Also, are .50 caliber rounds even available in anything other than full metal jackets? I wouldn't imagine they designed a bullet that big for hunting...

  • i dont believe thay make hollow points because there is so much force behind that bullet that it would be like a brick of lead because of the mushrooming effect of the bullet

there is also a 600 nitro express used for elephants and shit

  • I imagine you can hunt with it! I'm sure it would be like putting a shotgun slug with double velocity into the game animal at whatever range you want.

  • The bullet is half an inch in diameter...it doesn't need to expand to be lethal. While an expanding bullet would surely be more effective, I'm pretty sure one hit from a FMJ round would sufficiently kill just about anything.

  • although i have never measured the pressures, i did record the dimensions of the bolt and lugs before and after the firings and there wasn't any bending or distortion. so i would say it's good.

  • I love amateur gun smithing :)

  • OK...Didn't Blow up...nice!

  • I agree you need to show a break down its a great project. The video could use a little work. You did a great job on the build and I'd like to see the guts!

  • some day, i will show the breakdown and procedures. Frankly finding any free time is difficult right now. But in all honesty, if i did it again i would make the version in bill holmes' book. His design may look cheesier than a solid receiver like mine, but his design takes far less time to build and far less machine work.

  • um if you shorten the barrel you could go hunting because most .50 cal.s weigh aroung that

and is it legal to make a custom gun?

  • yes it is legal as long as you meet the legal requirements to own that specific type of firearm and you never sell it.

  • And the legal requirements are "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

  • I really wish it was that simple. But ever since we expelled our British oppressors in 1776, our government has worked hard to ensure that we have no possibility doing so to any future government.

  • It may be, depending on what happens this month. The US Supreme is in session now and this month will make the decision on whether 2nd Amendment is a individual right. Oral arguments indicate they to agree it is, however if they decide otherwise, I think it is time to take the advice of Thomas Jefferson when he said, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

  • i think you should start a business building them and selling em. you could pull one hell of a profit offa that. moreover could i get you to build me one?

  • Hmm...a home made gun that fires the most powerful round in the world? Sounds perfectly safe!

  • fuckoff just because its homemade doesnt mean he didnt have the technology or ability afterall you were homemade and we still let you out to play

  • Hey you got a license for that beast?

  • Nice, I'm a fitter and turner as well as an Army qualified armourer. I've been thinking of building a 12.7x100mm myself. You have inspired me to do it now.

  • get moving!!! i like building them more than shooting them. in fact when i am all finished, I'm a little bummed.

  • u taped over the fishing trip!? WHY would you do that?! THE MEMORIES!!!

    haha

    =)

  • dude u ever thot of usin that fer huntin

  • no it weighs 28 pounds and is about 5 feet long. I'd rather carry an air conditioner through the woods

  • damn, i just saw one that was 167 lb

so not bad. but i wouldnt take it hiking though.

might get too tired and leave it somewhere xD

  • lol, i don't know why but when i read that I almost pissed my pants. I'd rather carry an air conditioner..how random is that ROFL

  • haha! Nice gun! Careful with that!

  • sounds like a train engineer blowing the whistle to beg that you stop shooting him lol

  • HOLY LOLZ FISHIN' GUY!!

Cool, the camera is so screwed up we can even

see the shockwaves crossing the air!

  • I agree with theupsguy686, you HAVE GOT to do a video at least showing the breakdown of what you did here. This really looks like a kick ass project. Thank for sharing this with us. I do some machining myself so this is most interesting.

  • woah, since the sync is so off and the video is so laggy u can actually see the chockwaves when the lag goes away for a split second.. amazing

  • I like when someone says "Alright, it didn't blow-up." lmao =o)

  • jrc learn to spell...its probably alot of fun to make your own gun

  • Did you lathe down a ma duece barrel?

  • Actually no. I wanted to get a surplus M2 barrel. But they are getting scarce and can cost more than $450 for one in "good" condition. So instead, I bought an M3 barrel which is essentially an M2 made to fit in the wing if a fighter like the P51 mustang etc. It has a lighter profile but it was only $150 for near mint.

  • holy shit you gotta make a video of how to make one!

  • you know you can buy 50.cal. barrets at gander mountain i cant spell but you video a wast of time and making the guns a wast of time and you know that

  • a barrett is at least $6000 used and I don't have that money. Frankly, anyone who would rather buy something instead of building it most likely doesn't know the feelings of pride or accomplishment. I saved $5000 and learned enough to let me make many more guns if i ever wanted to. Plus I am a professional machinist and got to make the gun during my breaks on machines i didn't have to buy.

  • i agree with you on this one how accurate do you think it is?

  • my prototype muzzle brake sucked and so i was unable to do a good test of accuracy. This summer should result in a better test and video

  • LOL, during your breaks... or when the boss is out of the shop. I know how that goes. I built a small brass steam engine while my boss was out of town, hehe.

  • actually my company is owned by three brothers and they were pretty cool about it. In fact they would occasionally hang around to watch it being made

  • OVER 9000!!!!

  • thats cool it didn't blow up in your faces I'd like to mod a 303 British rifle. Make it a hand cannon of shorts, the rounds are almost the same as a 30-6. Its kind of dumb to want a bolt action hand gun but I think it would look cool as hell!

  • no batf laws allow you to make a firearm as long as:

    1. Local laws allow the possession of that weapon

    2. you are legally qualified to own such a weapon

    3. you perform at least 20% of the machine work by yourself

    4. if it is a class III weapon, you have applied for the correct construction permits and paid the corresponding taxes.

  • for all the firearm n00bs out there class III weapons consist of automatics

  • You couldn't build a Class III weapon from the ground up? By that I mean you would have to already have possession of a Class III registered receiver right? I'm sorry if my terminology isn't right on.

  • class 3 is a whole different world.

First of all, you would need a 'machinegun license' or equivalent to own it.

Second, to make one I believe you need to apply to the BATF for a permit to manufacture that specific type of weapon. Then when finished you have to register it and apply for the Class 3 tax stamp.

That's enough hassle to deter most people.

  • No, it's not illegal to build that gun.

  • why does this sound like a bad idea? Good luck and don't get hurt! :-)

  • years of expierience

  • hahaha you louser colt dont make ar15 lmao your just trying to be a smart ass

  • Colt DOES make AR-15 rifles. I own one. So dont be calling other people losers when you yourself dont even know what the fuck is going on...

  • A double action trigger is where it has 2 stages 1 is about 75 percent way back the other 25 percent is when u pull it actually stops and shoots. Colt does produce ar-15's

  • Armalite sold the rights to Colt in 1959.

  • actually you are technically right but you are referring to a 2 stage trigger not a double action trigger

  • sorry, but thats a two stage trigger. double action is where you can cock and shoot or just pull the trigger and shoot. the legend was right on single action, but he is wrong on every other thing.

  • colt dont make AR15s, colt makes the m16, the ar is a civillian model

and double action is on pistols, it means it cocks the hammer and releases it all in one motion, as opposed to single action were you cock, fire and cock, like on the single action army

  • This is a clear example of the ignorant trying to impose logic without proper foundation.

  • colt, armalite, bushmaster, olympic arms and several other companies produce ar-15s. Double check your facts. all you had to do was go to colt's website.

  • ah ok sorry, i was going on what i was told in weapon recognition class in the ACF

  • That is a nice gun for being homemade, good job.

  • It's not illegal to manufacture firearms without a license for non commercial, personal use at home if they conform to certain regulations.

  • is it legal

  • how much did this project cost?

  • these numbers are rounded off and to the best of my memory 150 barrel 120 for receiver and bolt stock 180 for chambering reamer 30 for wood 60 for trigger group and firing pin assembly 40 for picatinn
