  • I WONDER WHAT THE AMERICAN GOVERMENT WOULD DO IF AMERICANS GO OUT IN THE STREETS AND START USING VIOLENCE TRYING TO OVERTHROW THEIR GOVERMENT,THEY WOULD DO THE EXACT SAME THING AS IRAN,EGYPT,LYBIA ETC,OR WHAT,WOULD THEY LET THEM START THROWING ROCKS,BOTTLES AND OTHER ITEMS AT POLICE AND DON'T EXPECT THEN TO BE SHOT? POLICE HAD SHOT AMERICANS FOR MUCH LESS THAN THAT SO DON'T COME HERE AND TRY TO LOOK TO MAKE IRAN LIKE A BAD GUY! PEOPLE GET SHOT BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PROTESTING PEACEFULLY!

  • @Erh4bi I've lived in iran as an atheist and it's illegal. tell me a socialist in iran that is legally acting against government?

  • @Erh4bi LOL! you have no idea what your talking about, after the mujaheds the communist and left wingers has got more death penalties than any other representations of opposition. Mahmud ahmadinejad has given more than once anti communist statements.

atheism IS banned in Iran as a crime of communism. I'm iranian, what are you?

  • At least Venezuela is a new world order free zone

  • fuck you west.

    you can not stop iran

  • chavez support iran because of his anti-imperialist action and because he is concerned that USA might attack iran.

He also wants to help palestine.

Ahmadinejad and Chavez are from 2 different sides.

Cavez is lef, Mahmoud is Right winger.

Chavez is Socialist. In iran Socialism and Atheism are forbidden by the threath of death penalty. So if USA would leave Iran alone, chavez would stop supporting iran.

    And yes I'm Iranian

  • US - PROPAGANDA.... this is very professionally made up and psychologically someone has done some efforts... but....

  • Latin America do NOT want the USA here.

  • One thing missing from Western news is intelligent, constructive criticism of left wing governments from a leftwing perspective. So this is welcome. Like the interviewee I appreciate a lot of what Chávez has done, and I understand the sense of strategic alliances with Iran, for example, but I think Chávez is misguided in embracing certain figures to such an extent, apparently just because they have been slandered by rightwing propaganda. It doesn't make them "good guys".

  • Dear Paul Jay. I appreciate The Real News enormously, and have donated. ONE THING:

It's "Chávez" with the accent on the first syllable.

    Thank you! :)

  • screw you dude.. now you have to bow down to ur leader

and do something about ur unibrow

    you douche

  • victorluguin writes "this guy probably is upper middle class or got exiled" and therefore his "voice is irrelevant" -- Please! You can't judge people's ideas by their class background. This guy states facts - accurately or not. You can't disprove him based on his poverty level! In fact, this man understates. The Islamic regime beats, jails and tortures union organizers. (For example, for organizing May Day marches). Search Youtube for "Mansour Osanloo," tortured for leading bus driver union!

  • los dos teroristas uno el mas loco en sur america y el utro el animal irani

  • Comment removed

  • animal es tu hermna si supieras como muerde y loca cuando se mueve

  • chavezam an tar az ahmadinejad 2tashoun kirian

  • Yeah, this guy probably is upper middle class or got exiled. Most asians are product of one of those with poor people being a minority unlike latin americans who the ones I know in the states are from poor or country backgrounds, with a tiny upper middle class and exiled components. So... being that most poople in Iran is poor this guy's voice is irrelevant.

  • The Real News why dont you interview me, and let me speak of whats going on in Honduras, we arent under a military regime, c,mon guys let me speak

  • Speak. Say something substantial. Try and deny the women who have been raped by your friendly police or the 5 resistance victims of the death squad last Sunday. Try and show the invented "61%" figure of participation was not announced at a time when the TSE's real figures showed 49% -as seen in "Exclusive: Honduran elections exposed". See Daniel Molina, police spokesman, calling a coup a coup on youtube."let me speak"! SPEAK! :D

  • Thank you Realnews for pointing out truth and problems with the governments in Iran and Venezuela.

  • I liked the Examples he gave about what Iran is doing.

  • If 1000s of prisoners have been slaughtered when Mousavi was a head of the government (prime minister) in 1988 and he obviously was part of the crime and could stop it, a head of a government is aware of everything trust me. Why then would you want him as president? Shouldnt he go to jail instead? Probably even sentence to death? Or at a least not allowed to run for office considering the unspeakable crime? How many prisoners have been slaughtered under the hardliner Nejad?

  • He's the lesser of two evils.

  • My question is still the same, how many people have been slaughtered under Nejad?, we have already learned that many were murdered on Mousavi's calendar, now if none of you can answer this simple and basic question, just say it., and don't try to turn the page one me.

  • From what I've seen, the RNN seems like to feel free to break with any camps whenever they disagree. They were some of the first and few to strongly criticize Obama before he was elected, and they still maintain those positions today. Other "leftist" news out there can't stop glowing over the fact that he's half-black and some of his ancestors were slaves, rather than looking at his policies.

If you think TRNN is too left-wing, it's probably because the west is extremely right-wing these days.

  • none of his ancestors were slaves. his father came from kenya in1959.

  • MY DEAR GODMY DEAR GOD MY DEAR GOD I cant believe that I nearly got taken in by this channel. This news channel has been created to mess with our minds yes I agree this network looks and is fakethe guests are fakethey are looking at the bigger picture to get millions of people watching so they can feed them whatever they want to portray as real PAUL JAY IS THE MASTER OF SPIN AND COUNTER SPIN HE IS THE NEPHEW OF A ZIONIST. HE HAS A DIFFERENT AGENDADO NOT WATCH THIS

  • Absolute bullshit. What colour is the sky on your planet?

  • haha youtube Napoleon XVI it's the song for you. RNN feels free to break free from any "camp" you'd like to stick them in. The guests aren't fake. They are Poltical Scientists and authors with their own takes on what the hell is going on with geo-politics. Paul Jay does a good job, of clairfying the guests views and challeging them to defend their views with facts and observation.

  • I usually like The RNN... but why should I listen to random people just 'cause they're Iranian? I can get this kind of "journalism" on Twitter... Disappointing.

  • Yes. And this guy is one of the rich guys. The real iranian people don't have money to go and live in Canada or the States. I want some real iranian interviews!

  • young Iranians are fed on the same crap by western media and get taken in.... the real news is not a good channel .the truth delivered by democracy now is the best source of news and the most honest .. and they do not beg for donations like this channel donations are your choice..external forces responsible for the violence and unrest to destabilise the country..

  • while it is true Lincoln set slaves free only to secure the union, even saying that if keeping slavery would save the Union he would keep it. There came a time he and his wife lived among the wounded black solders fighting for there freedom and that changed his view on what it was he was doing and if he had not been assassinated who knows what more rights he would have granted the blacks. Remember it was his successor who took back what the slave had gained in there fight for freedom.

  • i cant take that much sesame street eyebrows...

  • good one!

  • Surely Irans financial problems have nothing to do with trade sanctions and a global recession, but hey, lets forget about that.

  • Exactly.

  • this fool is full of shit!

  • And you say that because....

  • what do you mean by "socialist"?! If anything, i would say "idealistic humanist" as was Ghandi, Annan, King, and the rest.

  • I mean it consistently favors state intervention. Gandhi wanted to abolish the state by the way, not that I have a tremendous amount of respect for him.

  • Why not?

  • His positions as outlines in Hind Swaraj are essentially that of a neo-Luddite theocrat. He hated industry, modern medicine, rationality, and secularism. Also the inspiring but false picture that most westerners paint of him includes him doing FAR more for Indian independence than he actually did, implicitly discounting the work of other independence fighters. Also his personal life was freaky (sleeping in the same bed as virgin teenagers to test his willpower etc)

  • so your telling me Gandi is not the peaceful heroic image I have been brought up to believe? Naturally, I find your statements hard to believe. In that case who's not to say MLK was just a simple pastor from the south or Lincoln was just an avarage president or the Founding Fathers were your every day revolutinarys?

Your the first person I have heard from who has given me a negative image of Gandi. It's very intersting and curious. May I ask your sources? And are you british or pakistani?

  • Yes thats what I'm telling you. I dont know enough about MLK to make judgments about him. I think Lincoln was a pretty bad president. Very authoritarian and despite what many think, didnt care much for black people. The founding fathers were pretty good revolutionaries in my mind, but not great.

The fact that I'm the first person to say anything negative about Gandhi is because you presumably grew up in the west where this myth of Gandhi as a great successful nonviolent revolutionary is common.

  • It is however, a myth, or at least a very small part of the truth. I have a huge interest in history, especially Indian history so my source list is probably bigger than I could even tell you, lol. My main sources would probably be Gandhi's own book Hind Swaraj, as well as his other writings, a few biographies I've read on him, and books on the actions of other Indian revolutionaries esp Baghat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, and Sardar Patel. And BTW I'm half Indian half American (can speak Hindi)

  • Thats probably more information than you wanted... enough to fill two comments to the brim. If you want more detailed information feel free to send me a private message.

  • It has nothing to do with socialism as intentional, but if you want to give full coverage you have to give all perspectives and not just one biased story, but see the facts of the problems, solutions, what works, what doesn, what did and what didn't work. People are going socialist because they now realize that people cant work alone but together. No one can depend alone or with a limited group but all as a whole. It is like a call for survival because we face real problems. Environment is one.

  • Every news network claims to be non biased. I'm sure if you asked Fox why they are such Neo-cons, they would say "No we arent Neo-cons! that's just the way the world is". Its bullcrap and you know it. Leftist solutions arent the only ones out there, but the RNN consistently only gives the leftist perspective. Claiming otherwise is as absurd as claiming Bill OReily is fair and balanced.

  • That is why you vary your news through books, internet articles and newspaper so that you put the pieces together and get a better understanding on the world u live in and what solutions work better than others. Socialism just comes from the word social. There is different types of socialism such as communism, marxism, democratic socialism, state socialism (current socialist states), and anarchism also known as libertarian socialism which is a more open, free and diverse idea.

  • I do get my news from other sources. (obviously, or I would have no frame of reference to compare the RNN to and call it socialist)

And I am an Anarchist already brother, so you are preaching to the choir as far as that is concerned.

  • Right on.

  • What's the US opinion on the Iranian election?

  • As a U.S, resident I can tell you that the typical american has no idea what to think, the mass media is controlled by a handful of individuals that try to make it seem as if they are barbarians with no influence anyhow.

  • the americans have no opinions until someone start winning.

    then they take that side

  • Its simple Iran is not aligned to the imperialist agenda of the U.S. Chavez is against imperialism and he condemns U.S. imperialism. I mean if you look Chavez can work with other gov't who are not socialist in the region to create stability. For example in Colombia as regional bloc gets stronger and the U.S. empire weakens its a truimph so Socialism as a whole. A multi polar world creates a greater opportunity for socialism to grow. Simple. The revolt in Iran should have been lead by the workers

  • Its always nice to listen petty-bourgeoisie dreamers like their guest that talk in defense of un-defensible.

Especially talking about RATIONs in 80s, passing them as subsidies. What plain ignorance, or lying.

Real News media should interview number of people from Iran, right now, be that officials or regular people.

  • The real issue why privitization has to be done is because Iran's oil sector is limited by the section 44. Iran does not have the technical depth of the western oil firms who are needed by Iran to keep up its oil production and the western oil service companies will not work under section 44 limitations. To get them to invest in Iranian oil, Ahmedinejad had to move to privitize certain sectors of economy.

  • Comment removed

  • So what you are saying is that, in reality Ahmedinejad is in favour of a large public sector. But have to privatize some of the oil industry, because of their lack of modern oil technology?.

You have any sources on this?

  • One of the major point of Iranian weakness is the oil industry--and the US is pressuring the sector by sanctions. These sanctions have targeted oil companies of France, Brazil, Spain, etc., which do not follow the US law. Given the great financial and economic pressure, it became an uphill battle for Iranian state to attract these foreign oil/oil services companies. There was a debate within the Iranian state and they decided that they need to open up the pie to attract these companies.

  • you call it the real news and yet you only show one side of the story... what's the other side???

  • This vid explains a lot. No wonder the people protest so much.

  • I think the reason Chavez supports Ahmad. is bc he is anti-American...I am not so sure its really that deeper.

  • Why is "The Real News" seeming to be promoting the Bush/Obama black operations designed to overthrow the Iranian government. What is the background of your guests? Are they remnants of the Shah's regime.?I understand his son is ready to come back and be an American puppet like his Papa. Most governments are corrupt so this guy is naive. The Real News better give this a better think.

  • Exactly! Good question. The answer is that "maybe" you have been as misinformed as almost everybody else in the rest of the world about Chavez and what really happens in Venezuela. I also have friends there (both working in the government or in favor and those who are against it) and thats the only way I can get objective information from there, because what you see in the news (even here sometimes! and Im a big supporter of "The Real News") you dont get a clue of whats really happening there.

  • He thinks Chavez doesn't know what the Iranian government is like? That's a very polite approach... I think he knows it very well but formed a strategic partnership with it anyway, following the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" logic.

  • That would be a very good and accurate, in my opinion, description.

  • Comment removed

  • Real news needs to stop picking up people whose main sorce of news is that my friends in Iran said this what kind of news is that ??? because he has friends there he is to be taken at his word the real news should be better then this.

  • I think that the "real news" should come from normal people with ties to the subject, its a lot better than the talking heads we usually see.

  • If ties to the subject means that my friends said this or that how can we take this kid word as the truth? If he was there or something ok. I mean look if someone on TV news said this just in breaking news my friend said he saw robbery of the US Mint who could trust that info???

  • Until he was proven wrong i would say, yes. I understand what your saying take it at face value, that is all one can do. You are right.

  • Maybe The Real News should talk to ACTUAL Iranians instead of these middle-class ex-patriots whose agenda falls clearly in line with the imperialists in the White House.

  • I agree with you.

  • Well said. I would even say he's part of the rich class, being abroad, most likely a student and all.

  • what government isn't corrupt..?

    the people are just pawns.

  • "what government isn't corrupt..? "

Somalia is a stateless society , so no corruption

  • Corruption please!

  • this guy's badass.

    speaks truth to power.

  • Mousavi ++++, Ahmad LIES. WOW Real News!

  • at first (like 3-2 weeks ago) i though ahmajuned was the good guy simply because the west was so 'anti " I didt take time to listen to the debate or research . but it all makes more sence now. they are jsut as crazy in the east as in the west more religious extremist . plus ahjamijejaj looks like a reptilian with those little eyes so close to each others
