  • Any one have any tips for ppl who are trying to learn belly dance but are not rhythmically gifted? Just starting out and I really want to do this and eventually do it well. Any advice on where to start when it comes to rhythm?

  • @LululovesBobby yes! keep practicing and that's how you will be excellent at it, when I first started learning belly dance I was in the same situation like you, but then I kept working at it and its gotten better; I didn't know that this dance was so simple lots of repetition, and you'll be fine no need to take this seriously you can learn on your own really its that simple!

  • @LululovesBobby I have the same issue. The best thing I can say is to learn the different moves involved in Bellydance. Once you learn them, your body will do most of the work for you. Then you can worry about the sequences and putting it all together with Rhythm.

  • if you turn to the side and look forward (look in the direction you are about to turn), you won't get dizzy. I got dizzy at first, then watched the girls more closely and discovered I was doing it wrong.

  • Hey, I just want to lose a few pounds and now that I've finished Uni for the year I'm planning to do these videos once a day. Do you think it will help? I'm also trying to cut out the fatty things I eat like chocolate bars and crisps and drinking lots of water.

  • There's something oddly satisfying about these videos. The voice is very soothing and encouraging, and just having the two ladies makes it feel more personal. I can't quite put my finger on it, but these vids are just friendly-feeling to me.

    And the girls are very pretty, of course :)

  • Fantastic video, although I doubt that with my gracefulness of a gorilla and flexibility of a wooden board I would ever be able to repeat all the moves...:(

  • Don't worry if you're not flexible enough to do all the moves. Just repeat it a few times and you'll see it gets much easier everytime! Keep trying and your body will adapt ;)

  • its the same with any flexibility exercises keep practicing every day and gradually the body will adapt into being able to do them, but once you stop practicing on a regular basis you will loose the ability you have gained with your movement, :-)

  • Hi! I have a question ;P

    When I do circles with my hips I've got a 'pain' while comming from the front to the left hip. This pain is in the inner of the thigh (the feeling is like you get this 'click' in your upper leg, I hope you can imagine this ;P) Do you know how can I get rid of this 'pain'? I exercise belly dance since the beginning of this year every day and it's all the time the same. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong while strenghting, but not sure what ;( and it's so irritating!

  • I think your hip flexor might be too tight and you need to stretch it after warming up a bit more. Do something like jumping jacks and other simple cardio for 5 minutes and then get into a lunge position just don't make the knee a 90 degree angle. Just more than slightly bent. Left leg back. Keep that leg straight and right leg bent and lean back into your left leg. Put your arms in front of you, lace them and turn your palms out. Your should feel that area stretch. Hope that made sense!

  • OMG! I remember when Comcast cable had this workout on Demand. I did it every night when I got in from work! Its fun and it really helps you with your hips and belly. Unfortunately, Comcast no longer has it on Demand, but I recorded it! Its fun!

  • Yeah I agree.This is such a great workout and isn't that hard either. If I had this when I was in school, I'd be alot healthier.

    Forcing exercises on children in schools who have no interest in them will do nothing if they're parents don't teach them good eating habits early. If you eat RIGHT you won't have to worry about getting fat. So eat an apple instead of that burger.

  • @autotime15 yea but if they require that in the US schools then they should require soap in your country schools so you wont stink like sht.

  • course u have to watch ur diet...not much sweets, low carb, if i eat sweets or carbs, i worked out using 30mins of fat burning. ordinary days, i do it for one hour...every cd lasts 30mins and i pause 5mins and continue with either abs&arms or buns&thighs, so i used 2 cds in a day..always use fat burning first then another cd.i think u wont eat anymore after working out coz u totally see the result after ur workout and the technique is breathing in the nose and exhale in mouth.

  • i worked out one hour everyday. first i used the fat burning for 30mins then have a break for 5-10mins and continued with abs and buns or hips and thighs. it was really hard. i have to sacrifice sweet stuffs and i was driven to really do it coz i looked and felt so unhealthy.the most important in these exercises is the breathing technique. inhale thru nose and exhale thru mouth. good luck!

  • yes it can i had lost like 40 lbs w it i used to be 145 and went down to 130 and then i had went down to 115 bymyself w strict eating habits

  • Hi! I do everyday 'basic moves...' made by these girls. It takes 30min + I add some push-ups and light strenght exercises made by Rania. I've got great belly muscles because of those videos XD But the other thing is I feel so... sexy while doing the belly dance, even my walk seems to be different and more feminine ;P Just do as much as you want to, but keep in mind to do it everyday! After a while you will think: I want to learn more, it's so amazing! You'll see! Good luck!!!
