You shouldn't keep your can of fuel so close to the flame. This kind of fuel has fumes that can be ignited from a certain distance. It is way too close in this video.

yah, that was a fun little stove - a mod of a few I've seen....not sure the mods were all that effective. The wick was totally useless. I mainly like how this style of stove burns like a gas burner in your kitchen. As long as you don't push the inner can to deep in the outer can. I need to post some directions on my website.

good question - certainly boils faster with a lid. I think I just wanted to show the boil better. I actually don't recall if I used a lid 'off camera' or not. In my newer videos - I use a lid. thanks for asking.

it's about 15 years old. Part of an old Open Country set I think. It's just a cheap aluminum pot.

what's cool about this stove, it heats the vapor, and burns just as it hits the pot (turbulence) very effective
