It is not a job interview it is a fucking prank show.
The job at the end is utterly useless.
Anybody with real talent would never do this.
The idea that Alan Shuga is an "entrepreneur" people want to work for is laughably stupid.
I mean the idea that an apprentice to a millionaire would have to have anything to do with selling shit like this on a shopping network, or other "challenges" like selling fruit in a market.
You don't get it. It's MY LICENSE FEE!! BBC gets just under £5 BILLION in licence fee per year! To any Americans reading that this almost $10 billion, or FOURTEEN B2 stealth bombers... PER YEAR!
Everything should be pure gold with that funding but they churn out drivel like... THIS!
It's not like I can stop paying my license fee, even if I stop watching BBC and only watch channel 4 etc... I STILL have to pay!
It's also a prime slot in the evening schedule that could go to other programs.
its not YOUR license fee, its EVERYONE's license fee. license fees mean programming cannot be tailored to minority tastes - that's what cable channels are for!
I have to agree with you in saying that BBC produces an awful lot of rubbish but I don't think The Apprentice is. What would you rather have in place of this time-slot? The wondrous Doctor Who or those Andrew Lloyd Webber shows? I think not. I avoid the BBC because of those programmes but it's things like The Apprentice that are bringing viewers back.
You're entitled to your opinion of course, but don't forget... there are millions of British people out there who actually enjoy watching it.
You say I'm entitled to my opinion but earlier you said:
"if you don't like it, don't watch it!"
Which is hardly respecting me voicing my opinion but effectively stay-away/shut-up.
I hate this show because it is fundamentally dishonest, claiming to be a real job interview or reality TV, but NO WAY you can be dignified or prove to be a good apprentice with these challenges.
This gives NO INSIGHT into business.
It's just sadistic voyeurism, revelling in the conflict and belittlement of others.
Ahh, sorry. I wish youtube supported icons next to the name, thought you were the same person replying again.
But this show is still awful for the Bullying from Sugar that is clearly coached or encouraged from him by the all powerful producers.
For the production think any employer or authority figure can talk to their employees this way is setting a terrible precedent to viewers. The BBC is better than this, maybe in America but this is not the way WE get things done.
Because it is a tax - and like all taxes, its all or nothing. Could I opt out of paying taxes because my children attend a fee-paying school and I don't use the NHS?
with watch it or dont there gonna keep making it till alan dosnt want to anymore of people stop watching and more people watch it then dont so stop moaning about the license fee n live with it. if we didnt have it the cost of watching tv alltogether would go up by atlest 35% so weather of not u watch the bbc the licesee free is the cheapest legal option.
That was really good of Kate to do that! At least she could present a product on her own, she has done so well through out this whole program and I think she should win because she has done so well, although she did have the odd week when she didn't do aswell but at least she is good enough to get hired for the job!
lol... set the recorder for this! Need to watch the full episode. Thanks goodness a friend recorded it for me. This girl should win. Got a great smile.
Kate is going to win!!
I really hope she does, she certainly deserves it.

BBC, you have fucking failed me.

so you would rather we watched five people in a room asking a candidate questions?
if you don't like it, don't watch it!
clearly you've missed the point completely - the apprentices turned themselves into fools with their product choice and business decisions!

Well if I hate it and I know I am not alone and don't watch it... why am I denied the right to opt out?
Don't try and tell me that I can, I've been there, tried that, got the £2,000 fine.
The point is if the TV audience had more FREEDOM in terms of payment then crap like this would not be polluting our limited airwaves.
I mean the number of shows I actually like on BBC, with the cost of my licence, it would be cheaper for much just to get them on DVD.

NO IT IS NOT A TAX!!! It is a LICENCE FEE! It would be illegal to treat the Licence fee as a tax.
Taxes all go directly to the government's account, ALL of the TV licence Fee goes to the BBC.
Technically it should only be for if you watch BBC on the TV but trying to opt out is impossible!
That means if the NHS is short on cash they can't expect a single penny of the Billions of pounds the BBC gets.
