Yes, that's probably it, I read it in a British publication, Granta, and the copy I got had a series of pages that were repeated, and some may have been missing. That story was complete, and it had an account of him working on tv for Yeakle Oldsmobile of Los Angeles, and all of the crazy goings on. The girl in the '57 Thunderbird was Sandra Giles, I don't recall who the girl at the bar was.

I loooooooooove this song! Ever since I saw it on MST 3K years ago......they were too harsh on Daddy-O, it was a pretty good film.
