Thank goodness a new great fingerstylist has come along to carry forward both the British and American traditions . At his best, like here, he is in the pantheon already.
James Blackshaw I have a love/love relationship with you. Love your music. Love the fact that seeing you in Montreal on Thursday literally brought tears to my eyes. Keep up the good work.
James Blackshaw I have a love/hate relationship with you. Love your music. Hate the fact your disgustingly better than me on guitar. Keep up the good work.
I can't quite work out which record this is on. I may have to yarr, even though I'd rather not. Hopefully one day he'll be famous enough to re-package all his early CD-Rs as one big lovely thing?
A possible alternative is AEAABE with the lower strings massively downtuned - I only have a 6-string guitar so the octaves can throw me off quite badly.
Nah, the 'River Of Heaven' tuning is AEAEBE - I figured it out properly after a few more attempts. Thanks for telling me the clouds tuning though! Have been trying to get my head round that for ages.

It's on Imaginational anthems II, a compilation released by Blackshaw's record company.

I agree, hiramkeys, I'm going to be spending the night of my 40th birthday enjoying his performance live at Cafe du Nord in San Fran!

I think the tuning is standard with the middle two strings tuned up a whole step.
So low to high it is: EAEABE
The recorded version from 'Imaginational Anthem' is in G so I'm guessing it's the same but capo'd at the third fret.
Good luck working out the rest of the tune!

Does anybody know the tuning for River of Heaven??

The tunings are on the inner sleevs of the cd I believe.

Sadly this cd is unavailable. Some of his earlier recordings were of limited production.

sorry yes you are right - it's not on Cloud of Unknowing... that's the one that has tunings on the inner sleeve I hear.
