The Kodak playsport for $130 takes amazing video. The video quality of it ''In my opinion'' is alot crisper and better clarity then the Zoom Q3 HD. Obviously the Zoom destroys it on sound quality with having the awesome mics (h4n) i think. I just wish it was as good as video quality as the kodak playsport. I tried to shoot some demo vids to show this if you want to check out.
it has a line in dosent it.can you still video while recording sound from the line in....i.e. mime to a recording you have done to make a decent vid???
@BANGERS68 I would think you could, I have not tried that yet but it would make sense for them to make it like that. Still trying to figure out the best lighting situation for mine at the moment. I seems to like a lot of light, i.e. stage lights to really look great
@nilebehemothkevin666 the lighting in that room isn't great, and I think this thing was set to Auto level on the video as well. It is definitely more friendly in brighter lighting situations, I think it would probably handle stage lighting really well. The lens is not very large so it just can't let in tons of light but for 300 bucks I think it does just fine.
@nilebehemothkevin666 First off MindsetDefect is an Unreal drummer and thanks for posting the video. I finally have the zoom q3 HD too and its not that great for HD. Better obviously than the orginal Q3 but the video quality is not crisp and awesome like my $130 Kodak playsport HD camera. The Q3 HD obviously the mics and sound kick ass with it having the mics from the Zoomh4n but video wise better then orginal but not too impressed with it. @nilebehemothkevin666 that was the predecessor q3. The video quality on the q3 hd is better, since it has much higer resolution and the lighting adaptability is great.
why does it sound way to loud at 11 seconds when he starts playing like its clipping out and then gets better and awesome sounding. Did you change a setting on it right at that second? or put low cut on or something?
@btbam666 it was set to auto level so when we were talking the level was on high and when the drums started it took just a second to adjust the level so it wouldn't clip. you can set it to automatically turn the level down and leave it or turn it down and up as the level changes. It also has a manual level set if you just want it to stay put.

@BANGERS68 yes, you can. When using the line-in the xy mikes are bypassed, so you can record whatever sound you want while filming.
