You should always dispute the debt if it's not yours. Send it certified receipt requested. You can call the collection agency. I recommend recording your phone calls with them.
how bout instead of wasting time making videos and wasting time and effort trying to figure out how to avoid this bill... PAY IT and to all people who think credit is a good idea: DO NOT GET CREDIT YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY BACK!
and 3 days before christmas--- no they dont care... remember hunny christianity is not 100% accepted...
Robin; you spent more time contacting people that obviously are Not in the Know. This entire matter could have been handled in a matter of minutes. A few Certified Letters to the correct people... Of course this would preclude your YouTube debut. Few collection agencies find it profitable to merely sue without having good assets in which to levy against. No one gets persecuted for representing themselves "propria persona," just good advise at times. You made a mountain out of a mole hill.
let me correct you.Pro per,or impropria personam ,which means you are yourself, not representing yourself. The self is actually a corporate fiction, the all caps version of your name ,or strawman attached to you by way of adhesion contracts ,that are unilateral, take it or leave it type contracts, like the driver license. I have a ton of inof to share if you'd like it.peace.
@adidasmylife Because there's no record of the phone call (it's mentioned in the video), so if you don't agree to pay the debt within 30 days and only contact by using the 1800 number they can sue you because there's no evidence that you contacted them to try and resolve the bill. On the other hand, if you contact them in writing (recorded delivery) then you have proof that you contacted them within the 30 days and so it makes it more difficult for them to sue you (at least not right away)
Thanks Melissa! after speaking to you I really appreciated your input on my website and am proud of you for fighting for your rights! Knowledge is power and you have apparently figured that out! We'll talk again soon.

@Catgirl356 Why pay a bill that's not yours? Christmas isn't a Christian holiday.

Ignore it and it will go away. I'll bet you take the same wise approach with your children. You have nothing to lose, so why not go kill yourself?
