Chess Killer Tip 006

Alexandra: I am finding these tips very interesting and challenging. I have a general question. I think I solve the problems because I know I am doing a tactics puzzle and so I try to look for something out of the ordinary. But I never seem to find them during my chess games. Are tactical plays just instinctive?

@Vizkris You are right, it's much harder to find tactics in one's own games, when one does not know a tactics combination exists. But practicing a lot helps to see tactics faster, so that each move you can look at the board and check for tactical motives.
