The more we think of it as just another movie and less like a live action version of a highly celebrated anime show, the more we will enjoy it. The timing is kind of weird though, considering Eclipse come out the same week. They'll have lots of competition opening weekend.

why are there monks? Didn't the Fire Nation kill them all except Aang? In Avatar world only the Air Nomad has monks, as they're monks themselves. @TheVVanderingStar Dude, what? Did you even watch the series? Aang, Sokka, and Katara had a lot of laughter and joy along the way. I know Aang had his depressed moments after finding out about the genocide of his people, but he certainly didn't let that affect his personality. The film looks darker from the series based on what I've seen in the previews. End of story. It may not be that way in the actual movie, but who knows.
@TheVVanderingStar I don't think it's that far fetched to find that someone is able to smile and laugh despite war. It's Aang's personality. They all had different personalities and handled aspects of the war differently, including times when they suffered. "We're in a war, so you can't have fun ever." seems more unrealistic to me than kids (because that's what they are) being able to joke around and have fun. What do you suppose the children in the late 30's and early 40's did during the war?

i have never seen avatar the cartoon once it came out like 4 yrs ago...but i knew that the flick was coming out soon....so i have to see all 3 books before it comes out to understand the whole " Avatar" i just got done with the 1st book which was a great show..and which what the movie is goin to be about....now i cant wait for the movie

- epic battle at the north pole and yu-ey (the moon spirit girl) gives up her life as in the cartoon, aang goes into a deep meditated trance where he talks to a black dragon . in 1:10 when katara is talkin yu can see aang sittin in the back. - aang turns into the Avatar and owns everyone and stops all the fightin - the END * i bet they even do a clifhanger at the very end where the fire lord is tellin Azula that "he has a task for her" like in the cartoon at the end of season 1

The voice you hear is Aang (Noah Ringer) voice. But I heard it was distorted to keep intrigue.
You can hear his actual voice in kids awards interview. I think this movie it's gonna be cool. There are some changes, such as only experienced fire-benders can make fire by themselves, but I think it's not a bad idea indeed.
Lets hope this movie isn't anything like Chapter 17 of Book 3 where the real characters watch a play reenacting the avatars journey and the play was freaking horrible. No one wan'ts that.
I don't see how people can't get the arrow on his body confused from painted to tattooed. Only Master Airbenders can get the tattoo on their bodies in which Aang was the youngest airbender ever to earn the title Master Airbender by creating a move.
One thing's for sure, this better have lots and lots of firebending. And no cheesey crap anyway. Make this a good solid movie.
Though is it just me or does it seem that firebendes have to draw their fire from a suorce? Like where Zuko fights Katara and that firebender attacks the earthbender they all need to pull it from a source. I hope it's just more energy efficient b/c I think that's lame if they can't create their own fire. Only proof I've seen against that is Irohs bending
only experienced firebenders can make there fire, people like azula,iroh,zhao, fire lord ozai. beginners like zuko need a source. by the end of the first movie zuko will be making fire by himself

i'm skeptical... the special effects look good from what i can see here, but there's just so much of the original series that i think will be lost in the adaptation to live action. I respect that somethings need to be lost when making it into a film, but still. :/

It follows the exact same plot and thus people will not stop comparing it to something similar. They have fun despite the war in the show because that sort of thing can work in a kids cartoon. In live action it wouldn't work so well.
So no, Aang won't have an unrealistically chipper mood because it doesn't make sense.

The sets and special effects will be beautiful.
The music is top notch.
The story is much closer to the show than we ever could have hoped for.
We can only speculate about the acting.
Overall this is gonna stay very true to the series, unless you're just THAT nit-picky about appearance...

The voice you hear is Aang (Noah Ringer) voice. But I heard it was distorted to keep intrigue.
You can hear his actual voice in kids awards interview. I think this movie it's gonna be cool. There are some changes, such as only experienced fire-benders can make fire by themselves, but I think it's not a bad idea indeed.

I don't see how people can't get the arrow on his body confused from painted to tattooed. Only Master Airbenders can get the tattoo on their bodies in which Aang was the youngest airbender ever to earn the title Master Airbender by creating a move.

One thing's for sure, this better have lots and lots of firebending. And no cheesey crap anyway. Make this a good solid movie.
Though is it just me or does it seem that firebendes have to draw their fire from a suorce? Like where Zuko fights Katara and that firebender attacks the earthbender they all need to pull it from a source. I hope it's just more energy efficient b/c I think that's lame if they can't create their own fire. Only proof I've seen against that is Irohs bending

only experienced firebenders can make there fire, people like azula,iroh,zhao, fire lord ozai. beginners like zuko need a source. by the end of the first movie zuko will be making fire by himself

i'm skeptical... the special effects look good from what i can see here, but there's just so much of the original series that i think will be lost in the adaptation to live action. I respect that somethings need to be lost when making it into a film, but still. :/

It follows the exact same plot and thus people will not stop comparing it to something similar. Its like a person stranded in a strange weird place; the person will not just quickly and happily accept this new strange place. The person will first look for similarities to the person's home.

yes ur write, aang is probably the one most likely to say sumthing like that BUT, if u hear an interview of him AND if u hear him scream in the first trailer u know thats not him, and u also here kataras voice in the trailer and and an interview and the 2nd voice is not her, but i bet the 2nd voice is aang, but im not 100 % positive it just sounds like noah ringer, and also sounds like zach tyler eisen

When aang says "i dont deserve their praise" it sounds horrible, but i think he was crying at the time, definatly sounds like it, because he was gone for a 100years and the water nation is greatful, but because the world is in war he feels he could of prevented his nation from being killed and ect, if he had not ran away and froze himself

I agree with DAKIDandMAGIC, his new tatoos are much better. A plain blue arrow is OK for a cartoon but it's ridiculous in a live action movie.
I'm sure the creators would have made a normal tatoo in the cartoon but it's probably a pain in the ass to animate a realistic tatoo for a cartoon.
