While there's no doubt that it's a great car, I would prefer the GT2 RS. It's handling is 95% as good as this but when you straighten the steering wheel and plant it there is 620hp under your right foot. And as for the noise, I, weirdly, prefer the sound of Porsche forced induction cars.
Glad to see Porsche still offers a conventional manual gearbox. Sure the robotic manuals are quicker shifting but for pure rewarding fun you can’t beat a real manual!
My friend let a GTR owner drive his track-spec NSX... he spun out twice (on the 1st corner and the second to last) and couldn't keep up with his friend driving his GTR. The frustration on that guys face was priceless, in the GTR he was GOD... but put him in a 6 speed car without 4WD he was a squid. Wish i got it on video... he even had the nerve to call the NSX a piece of shit under his breathe... lol squids and their PS3 car lol
The GTR isn't a competitor at all though...GTR's are around £80k or something in the UK (about $100k in NAmerica) and 4.0RS' cars go for £150k/$200k. Im not sure there is a competitor for the GT3 RS tbh. One of my fav cars tho I prefer the styling of the 2007 model.
My comment isn't about that... its about cuz Nissan priced the GTR so much cheaper than its competitors that everybody and their momma buys the new GTRs. for example, i was at a local track running my E30 and I saw I shit u not... 15 GTRs during the 5 hours i was there. Even one of the owners stated he has NEVER driven stick-shift. Fuck the GTR... even my instructor hates em due to the fact their owners don't progress as a skilled driver... put them in another car and they fail.
True re: price but they werent cheap - they were in the high 60s in 2009 in the USA and are now in the 90s in America I think?
And at LEAST these guys are taking their car to a trackday! There's new 911s, Gallardos and 430s where I live that will NEVER see a trackday EVER!
Anyway, i'm going to be done medical school soon and am looking for an expensive car. Would like a GTR but im 2 young 2 start driving auto. Even one with a clutch (albeit robotized) :P Will likely end up w/ Exige

Harris bashed Ferrari for providing hopped up cars for tests to make their numbers look better than you would get in regular production Ferraris and they got mad so they banned him. I used to love Ferraris, but I can't respect a company that operates in such a manner.
