  • You voice is awesome!

  • This is great, I love working with beat repeat and this just solved all my misconceptions about how flexible beat repeat could really be. Thanks yo'

  • No dislikes for a reason

  • Amazing tut, honestly this is one of my favorites!

  • @lcmxr6 thanks! Thavius will be teaching our online Ableton courses so be sure to check those out.

  • @DubSpot I've been looking at them for a while now. I'm in finishing up my BA in business online right now. I think I am going to take the Digital DJ class this summer to see how I like them. If that goes well you can count me in for the dubspot ableton course

  • @DubSpot great tutorial.

  • you rock man, I'm Russian but i study Music Technology in UK. God i wish I knew how good dubspot school is, id just go there instead! :D

  • THE best beat repeat video iv'e seen..

  • Dubspot in memphis...that would be kick ass haha, love the videos, deffinetly helped me explore my ableton!

  • Thank you! So helpful!

  • Thavius is king.

  • second that! cheers

  • very nice thanks Thavius

  • Excellent tutorial. Very clearly explained in a really logical order.

I have been using Live for like 5 years and I have never understood what I was really doing with beat repeat.

  • @sameedShaikh glad we could help!

  • VERY NICE! This helped me a lot, I had heard about Beat Repeat in ableton live but haven't bothered learned it until now. Kind of wish I had (I've only been working in DAWs for a month) cause I could have had wayyyy more variation and what not in my songs. Oh well, it's better I learn it now then never, plus I can always go back and recreate tracks with this, etc. Thanks a ton. Always gotta learn new things everyday.

  • Very cool. Best beat repeat tutorial I've seen. Watched a few other ones and this one explains all the controls and how to use them with precision.

  • @grindblasterds -- good question man -- we're working on it... first we have to complete the online school....

  • @DubSpot If you guys made a DubSpot Chicago, I would cry tears of joy, cause then I could commute to school instead of paying out the ass for an apartment in NYC hahahah

  • thanks bro this is some very helpful info..

  • Thanks to everyone commenting! Thavius is going to be doing more videos for us so make sure you subscribe to get them as soon as they come out. Also check out blog.dubspot.com for information about his workshops in the LA area.

  • is thavius teaching classes at dubspot nyc? i thought he was out in la. ......is dubspot opening up in la???

  • @olsmichael Thavius is based in LA and doing videos and workshops out there. As far as Dubspot LA... We'll see :)

  • @olsmichael -- for now private lessons in LA. Dubspot LA soon...

  • Great Stuff,

I Love it how you think you know live but little gems like this always keep it intresting.

    Good Stuff DubSpot

  • great tutorial thanks for sharing :-)

  • Thavius Beck is the MAN. 'Nuff said.

  • I WISH DUBSPOT WOULD TELL US WERE TO GET SOME DRUMS OR CREAT THEM MY DRUMS SUCK I HAVE CHORD AND SICK DRUMLINES BUT THE DRUMS ARE ETHER WEAK OR JUST NOT VIBEIN

  • @BLAZE45 just sample them or download sample packs, its like the most basic part of producing

  • @fieldhockeygoalie JEA BUT I HATE THAT, THEY USUALY DONT SOUND AS GOOD AND WERE WOULD I FIND THESE PACKS? I HAVE SUITE 8 AND DOWNLOADED ALL THERE DRUM PACKS

  • @BLAZE45 well what genre of music are u trying to make? just search the name with 'sample packs' after it in google, dont bother using ableton's preset stuff. after that its all about layering the drums to get a thicker more well rounded sound and then using filters and eq 8 to make final adjustments

  • @fieldhockeygoalie RIGHT NOW IM DOING TRIP-HOP,TRYING TO SOUND LIKE PORTISHEAD AND TRICKY ,I DO HOUSE BUT I HAVE A BUNCH OF DRUMS FOR THAT JUST NONE FOR TRIP-HOP OR HIP

  • @BLAZE45 You can use a House sample, change the bmp and put some Beat Reapeat. That would be kick ass =^)

  • @elARTEdelPOOP I ACTUAL JUST FOUND SOME,LOL

  • @fieldhockeygoalie Layering drums more often than not causes conflicting frequencies that cancel each other out and result in a weaker signal.

  • Excellent tutorial. Word to ya mother Thavius!

  • AWESOME SICK VIDEO!

  • very good vid

  • great video thanks ! :)
