  • she doesnt deserve a first state butcher.

  • this woman knows shit about what she's talking about who is they? butcher cover is not going in mint condition for 1500 dollars she must be doing good coke

  • The gist of this video- If you see a valuable album, buy it. Oh wow that was helpful.

  • she is so gay. dose she even work for them eny more? she just wonts the money she dont care about the records. prbully suckers in old guys and ladys in seeling there old reocrds like for hafe of what they are. i whoud tea bag my nuts on her face.

  • "What you've just said ... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it."

  • You stupid bitch!! You just SLAM the record on the table and risk a SEAMSPLIT! All you are is a worthless stupid bitch!!!

  • @Bassmaster970 she has seamsplit in her panties to let the smell out

  • @partyspecialists hahahaha. Good one.

  • Yeah I hate when people buy some LP's just because they are expensive and rare. A record can be rare and expensive and crap at the same time. Buy vinyl because you like the release, not because whatever you're buying is rare and popular. I face palm every time I see a collector's video and the only thing they ever have is 100's of shitty popular old metal/rock/pop LP's, quanity and popularity over quality. That's not collecting , that's what I call hording.

  • "expert" village? What an annoying simpleton banging the cover on the desk and telling us "this one is rare, buy it, this one, might be a buy, buy it. They must have interviewed hundreds of record experts to come up with this rare specimen. Yikes. I feel more stupid for having listened to her!

  • no lady, you call them vinyls, they will always be albums to me ;]

  • This is a good video, the woman is nice and yes, I'd spend some money at her shop in Pamona, CA, but she barely scratched the surface of record buying/collecting. I notice that she has one of those record price guides on the table. Those things are outdated by the time the ink is dry. I used to buy those books, antique price guides, etc. but these days the internet is the best source for recent values on things. Check eBay "completed auctions" for a starter.

  • Every time she bangs that album on the desk, I wanna punch her in the face....hard.

Btw, I know a bit about collecting vinyl, maybe I should start appraising antiques ???

  • your obnoxious the way you knocking the record on the table

  • they call them records, vinyl, and lps you dumb cunt. She didnt even know the name of the fucking record. And you can tell if its a butcher if you can see Ringos black sweater neck through the sticker on the right side of the record.

  • Riiiight. I see. So the first thing (and only thing, apparently) for someone to know about collecting records is the Beatles' butcher cover. How about stressing the importance of condition? How about an overview of rarity? How about how to avoid thrift-store Herb Alpert junk? How about talking about the most collectable genres?

  • @myrecordcollection Good point! I keep finding amaaaaazing LPs in thirft store bins & cates. It eakes a lot of patience, you have to get used to seeing he same Jon Denver and Carpenters LPs a million times, but there's always a gem if you loo carefully. Recent finds for 25 cents: unsteamed Butcher Cover, readings from the book Confessions of an English Opium Eater, Rod McKuen's Beatsville, a jazz sitar LP and a few Chinese pressings of 60's American folk music, cool colored vinyl!

  • why buy that album for 1500$ when you can get the cd with the butcher cover for 12$ on ebay.

  • @MrPinkfloydfan420 To each their own. The record though was pressed in limited numbers and is a unique product, whereas the CD is mass produced and is easily replicated. However, I can see your point, a lot of times I collect the 1970s-80s reissues of the Beatles albums, there is marginal difference in sound quality (in some cases the reissues sound better) and when the original costs 100 dollars, the 1970s reissue costs around 3 dollars.

  • @APyleOfVinyl The Butcher lp would be something to have as far as a piece of rare record artwork . There is a beatles bootleg with the butcher artwork its cheaper than the original official release but still a rare live album. My favorite is Moby Grapes finger cover that one is more common but in high demand. Hopefully nobody bought the Blues Magoos Psychedelic Lollipop album sittin in the antique store downtown. I was upset i didnt buy that the last time i was there.

  • @MrPinkfloydfan420 You are clearly not a record collector, you just don't get it. CDs are not vinyl, they don't have the great art work, they are tiny, and they skip easily when scratched. Boo CDs, yeah for vinyl!

  • @HunterMann Actually I only buy records but i do not consider myself a vinyl collector. The thing about the Beatles butcher cover is im not going to spend over a grand on a record just for the cover. Im not going to buy the album just because it is highly sought after either. a little dinky cd cover of the artwork would be enough for me. Now if you were talking about Pink Floyd Bootlegs on Vinyl it'd be a whole another subject altogether. I only buy records because i got to frustrated with cd's.

  • @MrPinkfloydfan420 I agree about the craziness of a high-priced Beatles LP. The ironic thing about fanatical, obsessive Beatles collectors, is that when they get a mint condition LP they do not actually listen to it! They might pay thousands for a sealed copy of a Beatles LP and never plan on opening it, listening to it. What is the point? Maybe they are keeping the LP to re-sell for $1 Million Dollars in the year 2039?

  • @HunterMann The funny thing is that probably half of the "sealed"Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, etc LPs out there are re-sealings. It isn't rocket science to buy the right kind of plastic sheeting and a slealing machine(or a simple blow dryer will work too). If eBay allowed bootlegs and pirated copies of LPs and homemade concert LPs, I'd be collecting those. The rare, small number pressings are where it's at!

  • Why would you slam a classic record on the table!!! STUPID!

  • oh grandma what would we do without you?????

  • @Batcuj: That copy is worthless and she knows it. In fact, every record collector does.

  • lol 10 slams.

  • this woman doesn't deserve to have that rare beatles album.

  • your cool

  • The butcher album cover was Lennon's idea. the reissue is actually a picture flipped or inverted and you can actually see that they are not happy in the picture!

  • We only call it vinyl because cd's are commonly known as records -_-

  • Album on left may or may not be a pasteover (the way she is slamming it makes me thint it isn't) the album on the right is more than likely a bootleg. There are not that many first state copies.

Overall ths is an epic fail. There was NO eplanation on how to determine authenticity.

Funny that last week on Pawn Stars this album was featured with less than factual information.

  • THIS LADY IS A IDIOT!!! Yes, let's keep slamming the record down and split the seems, cutting that $1,500 down to like $100. And this lady is totally wrong! The re-labeled ones are starting to become as much as the original label ones. I would expect better from a company that calls themselves "expert" village.

  • The lady fails.

  • she said people dont call them records or lps.so why did she mention record player

when she should have said turntable.just wondering why the expert said that.(LoL.

  • The last time I checked, A first state Butcher cover is worth 15,000.00 to 30,.000.00. A 3rd state (trunk cover peeled off) is worth about 1500.00 to 3000.00 Now these values may have increased or gone down since i checked into it a year ago or so, but your estimate of a top price of 1500.00 is incorrect.

  • Records BLOWOUT - 10,000 records at $3 each (min. 25).

    Info. 212-579-0689 (m-f 9am to 12noon and 1pm to 3pm)

  • Wow, this is deep.

  • She's an idiot.

  • What a cunt-stain

  • she is wrong

  • She is a fraud! They are not called record players. Her info is bogus!

  • this video is wank

  • She reminds me of a woman at goodwill who stacks the records there. She put me off buying records from that store when she just DROPS the records from a 3 foot height into the sale bin! Now I know why I find scratched records there!

  • Probably split the edge seam banging them on the table like that!

  • Who knows. I did not see you in the video.

  • @Unicornstar225

fucking hell, do you know her? why are you taking all the comments to heart? and yes you actually can split the sleeve seam by smacking it on a table.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm gonna go listen to my vinyls.

  • i want some LP's or some 45's but i dont know where to look!!! comment to helpp me!!!

  • yo there's loads o vinyl shops in london town man . and 2nd hand vinyl stores where you can find your favorites for like £7 . you knowed it from time people.

  • Walk around your city or nearest town. You will be surprised. Old lady from ten floors up could be a owner of some old vintage collectible shop. Best to do is Just WALK AROUND. Learn about your city. the history. What store was here before this store. Question the impossible. Because when it comes Vinyl's the impossible is possible my dear friend.

  • @PAULisDEADMANnumber9

Defiantly eBay. I get like 80% of there.

  • 1:47 CRACK!

  • lol i have that vinyl :D

  • this lady makes out we are all a bunch of idiots "33 and a quarter RPM"-No shit sherlock! im a elvis collector (but have thousands of others) and i would tell this women a thing or two about collecting.

  • These are "how to" collecting for beginners. I'm sure you are a Jerk ( I mean "expert", in your field of collecting). Lighten up, this video is OBVIOUSLY meant for the beginner. Stop being so harsh and Judgemental. If you don't appreciate what she is trying to achieve, I suggest you shut the FUCK up.

  • @Unicornstar225

Then I suggest they get somebody who knows how to properly handle records, Instead of slamming it down repeatedly. Have you seen the one with the Rubber Soul LP, how she scratches it with her finger nails and jams it back in the jacket? Hardly an expert.

  • yeah, she talks like we re retards.. So we are supposed to buy Beatles. What about the Human Beast? What about Traffic Sound? What about Ofege? What about Fraction- Moonblood? What about Speed Glue shinki? Buy it?

  • She used the Beatles album as an example. The video is only 1.51 minutes long. What are you retarded?. Grow up and stop being such a turd.

  • "Buy it" as she emphatically DRIVES it in the table. I love watching these videos... and the collector fraternity laughs and cringes!

  • What are you explaining this stuff to 5 year olds?

  • I call 'em records...and LPs...and vinyl.

Fuckin' gorilla shouldn't be allowed to handle records, either way.

  • And you should?. Who died and made you an authority, at least she is trying to give information, when all you are able to do is Judge and comment negatively. Piss off and tell someone who cares.

  • thanks for clearing that up for me.never get within 20 feet of my records or i swear ill shoot you dead on the spot.

  • Comment removed

  • Why is it that every record collector over 50 years old only talks about the beatles?

    I don't like the beatles !

agreed with mystic4fred; she thinks all viewers are retarded, silly woman !

  • she's talking to a class of 5 year olds...

  • This women knows absolutely nothing about records. All she knows is GREED!

  • no. I think shes just reading from a que card. as in someone said, hey, wanna make a quick 20 bucks?

  • Yes!!!

Smash the record on the table!!!

Make it get a huge seamsplit in the cover!!!!

    Stupid,stupid....WOMAN!

  • @Batcuj hahahahah lol

  • @Batcuj I won't buy that shit on ebay lol

  • I have the one on the left..With the label on it..its a little damaged, how much do you think I can get for it?

  • Let me count the many times she BONKS the one with "the only label" on the table! LOL

  • 13 xD

  • every time she says "vinyl" she squints

  • She talks like she's teaching a class of kindergarten kids...

  • I have the one on the left...

  • 1500????..lol i laugh.. please look up the real value of the Album Yesterday and Today.. it's not worth 1500. try 25.000-30.. the last 1 to be sold was 32000 by a private collector.. I have 1 ....1966 1st edition #5 on the back lower right corner..It was given to me by my father 10 years ago and had it appraised , and the above price is correct not 1500.00

    bb

  • Whatever, All I care about is Brum and Bass.

  • shes baked...

  • Was your tip suppose to be buy the Butcher cover of Yesterday and Today? That doesn't help me because I can't fucking find it.

  • Thanks so much from everyone here on Youtube. Obviously she doesnt know ANYTHING about vinyl...Cheers!!!

  • All I want are tips from someone on collecting. All you want to talk about is the Beatles...why not a general about just vinyl. Please if anyone can give me what I/we want i.e. how to properly store and care for your records, Grade them, Invest in them please let me know. Title is "Vinyl Record Collecting Tips : Basics for Collecting Vinyl Records" SHE NEVER HITS ON THE TOPIC. Please rename video "How to Collect Beatles Butcher Cover"

I'm guessing the rest of her videos are the same dead end.

  • Thanks for wasting 1:51 of my life on your fucking Beatles shit

  • Obviously you dont know ANYTHING about the famous beatles butcher cover if you dont want to "waste" your time, please dont see this videos....cheers!!!

  • Probably what he meant was everybody knows about the butcher cover.

  • i got tons of records for sale. all types

  • where's the muthafuckin tips?

  • Why doesn't she pound it on the table some more? What a maroon.

  • Tell me about "Lady Madonna" on a 45rpm record, please?

  • why didn't you mention the fact that those that were recalled had a new "sticker" label on that "Butcher Album"...peel it off (and damage that copy, if you will)......if you are telling people how to collect, why not tell them what to look for? (see other comments made by me...defending your advise for collection and cleaning)

  • vinyl going start collecting them man there so cool love music and i also love album covers

  • I call them vinyl records

  • First state Butchers are worth up to $15,000 actually..

    Second state is worth more

    third state about $5,000-$10,000

  • i have never seen a third state go for $5000, maybe a stereo 2nd state. as for 3rd, even the best peels are simply not as desirable since everyone with a 2nd decided to peel them. the value generally follows the same order with 1st state being worth the most and 3rd being worth the least, w/ stereo copies always being more desirable as there were about 1/10th as many pressed

  • A mono 3rd state that was peeled excellently has gone for around $10,000 actually. But, no reason to argue. =]

  • Comment removed

  • There was an Abbey Road album pressed on green vinyl. =]

  • There was a Yellow submarine movie soundtrack release; the record was coloured yellow.

  • the lady obviously knows little about collecting "records". She is there to turn on idiots who will end up thinking re-released Kinks albums on MFP pickwick are worth moola. Most of the collectable records have already been collected by the true lovers. Nitwits like her should go back to Hummel figurines or beany babies. Leave the vinyl to us vinyl junkies.

  • "They don't call it records, they call it vinyl."

WTF is this woman on about?

  • is the same thing.... back it was called record, i still called them records... everybody in this world knows wats a record....

  • this is fucking absurd , fuck off and stay away from records

  • As a collector you should know a record is only worth what someone will pay for it. You may have got 400 for it, someone else may only get 150. Someone else could get 600! Another may only get 50 bucks.

That said, I think we can all agree that anyone who sells a near mint or vg+ first state for only 1500 knows nothing about record collecting!

  • so wait,

people glued the dead babies cover onto the original cover?

  • No, the company printed a bunch of the original cover (the "Butcher" one), but when people were outraged, they made 12"x12" stickers to go over the top of the original cover. Most "Butcher" albums you'll see will be one that someone has steamed off the sticker. You can tell because it will look like there is some water damage to the cover.

  • @martkra - Those "stickers" are actually called "slicks" or "flats", and even the original "Butcher" covers were 12x12 slicks pasted on the blank cardboard cover. Only the back cover had been actually printed onto the cardboard. In fact, another extremely rare collectible is the unpasted "Butcher" slick that has not been trimmed yet, and still has the printer's alignment marks along the top edge. If you could even find one, they'd undoubtedly go for considerably more than $1500.

  • @WeegeeSteichen

You're right, because even albums like Meet The Beatles and The Beatles' Second Album had the slicks. They pretty much all did up until Sgt. Pepper's.

  • This chick must be on drugs. $1,500? At that price, you're darn right I'd buy it.

This kind of misinformation is typical in the collecting field. If I had a nickel for everytime a dealer tried to b.s. me, I'd definitely be rich.

Same is true of many "price lists" you see for sale. Beware Warman's Guides -- I think they get their prices from what they see at garage sales, because they have no basis in reality.

  • Tell me about, please....*rolls eyes*

I've been garage sale-ing and diggin in the crates for 25 years. In the last 5 or so years, the amount of zipperheads I've had the misfortune of meeting up with who think their Frank Sinatra 78 is worth money makes me want to cry like a newborn baby

Thank God I started before ebay was around and the glory days ended. (btw, Thanks Japan!)When Goodwill employees start HIDING what comes in, researching it on ebay and saving it for friends...its over

  • If she knew alot about vinyl she wouldnt keep slamming that damn album down on the counter.....seriously watch the last 20 seconds or so....horrible treatment from someone who is telling others how to collect!!!

  • I saw a first state butcher cover list for $10,000

  • A sealed copy sold for $30,000, so a mint one must be worth 10k up!

  • WOW! i bought a butcher one at goodwill! and its in good condition!

  • An original butcher cover can be worth "up to $1500"? WHERE does this person get her information? I want to buy an original butcher from her!

  • come on man you said only worth 150. 200 you seem to know it all

  • Correct billbloodma, $150-200 for your 3rd state mono peeled butcher in poor to fair condition. An original butcher (ie, never had the second cover pasted on) goes for tens of thousands, as you previously correctly stated, depending on condition. In my prior comment about your record, I was merely trying to inform you about the current market rate of your cover.

  • i got over 400.00 for that record how old are you ?. you just came across as a know it all to me NOTHING YOU DON,T KNOW .I BEEN COLLECTING FOR OVER 30 YEARS .

  • I sold a mono 3rd state Butcher for $1200.If I can find a 1st State Butcher for $1500,After you sell beatleshrink a copy,I'll be in line for the next copy.I would prefer a stereo copy please.

  • I'd pay $1500 for a stereo copy

  • Take a look at the inside of The Beatles album "Rarities",the Capitol Records gatefold edition. You'll see the "Yesterday...And Today" album cover on the inside.
