This appears to be his last roast before his death. I know he would be dead today, but it's a shame that he died at the age of 39. To bad him and George didn't do more movies together. Jack was funny to the end.
The word "genius" is not wasted on Jack Benny. He was simply the best. Even his pauses were funnier than anything today's so called comedians can produce.
It is sad to watch this knowing that Jack is dying. The real sad thing is that at this point they had no idea what was wrong with him. They wouldn't diagnose his pancreatic cancer until a week before he died. I love Jack, and rather enjoy the roasts, but the production is so cheesy. The cut-aways to the other guests are obviously filmed at different times, and they showed Henry Fonda twice...with the same clip.
This is fucking brilliant. This is old school fantastic one liners. Love how he turns around the joke - He drained that BOTTLE in ten seonds flat - superb.
I cried when I watched all these very funny but absolutely clean roasts, they are so great compared to the filth that they call roasts now. I watched the roast on Pamela Anderson and I am not a prude and I thought it was just sad that they used that kind of lang and just dirty dirty jokes. These people are pure class of the likes we will never see again. what a shame and I have a 15 yr old sowill never truly understand what being a class act means
This is Jack's LAST television appearance - taped Oct 1974, he was already sick and weakened from the pancreatic cancer that killed him two months later on Dec. 26th. It is evident in his delivery here. The show aired in Feb '75, two months after he passed. Dean Martin taped a special dedication to Benny that aired before the broadcast, but it is not included on the dvd and I have never seen it (after research I don't even know if it still exsists, save perhaps an early home VHS).
who else think that Kevin Spacey will look like him when he get old

Even his pauses are brilliant. We love him and so too the angels and those who dwell with him in the music halls of heaven.
