you said just a bit of BP in the bottom of the can? so are you talking about a special lunch tube, disposable cardboard tube, or like a soup can? sorry for my ignorance, just didn't know if that was some kind of pyro lingo or like a generic term for an old tin can. also was your charcoal crushed to a powder, mixed powder chunks, or what ever you wanna do? never tried this kind before, thanks
@demnlordd666 Yes, about a quarter inch or so black powder in the bottom of a coffee can with a layer of tissue paper on top. Above that is finely powdered charcoal.
that is awesome. looks like you could do small scale reenactments of large explosions for home movies/ fun projects. I like it, would also add a nice back drop for a small finale on home fireworks shows. mix just a tiny bit of coarse magnesium and iron filings for fun to look like a steel casing blew up, but no bang to annoy the neighbors. ha ha you could scare the shit out of a friend. put one just outside their window, look like all hell broke loose, but just effect. safety first though.
@hotrodmcspoonjr I don't measure for fireballs. Just coat the bottom of the can with BP until you just about can't see the bottom through it, lay a piece of tissue above, then fill with as much charcoal or powdered coffee creamer as you have.
I find it both amazing and depressing that craftsmen may spend many days on making these fireworks and yet their beautiful works of art last only a few short seconds...ohh fireworks... we take them for granted every 4th of july, and yet their construction is so complex.
Coffee creamer, with the highest fat content possible. Flour does not work well. If you live in a rural area with farming supply stores, powdered milk for feeding calf's works very well, and is sold in 55 lb bags.
what he used for that was creamer, you can buy it from my company, J&M Displays, 10 bucks for a 50 pound bag. When i said creamer, yes its old coffee creamer.
hey this might sound odd, but what would happen if you substituted the charcoal for a coloured composition such as veline blue or a red. would it make that coloured fireball?
It would make a very fast and bright fireball of color. Perhaps with less or no oxidizer and more charcoal it would be a longer lasting effect. It would be cool to see.
Just charcoal. It does not take high quality charcoal for this sort of device so I just scraped it off the logs from my fire pit. The sparks hang naturally.
Could you use this in your airsoft land mine instead of baking soda?

@panhead247 It requires black powder to lift the charcoal. In response to your comment on my other video, these are silent.

Nighthawkinlight 1 year ago
@Nighthawkinlight dang so how much charcoal did you use and was it bb-q chunks or real good charcoal
dersitis33 1 year ago
@dersitis33 About a pound of charcoal. It was just charcoal gathered from a fire pit. Quality charcoal is not needed for a creamora.
Nighthawkinlight 1 year ago
@Nighthawkinlight cool man thanx i gotta try this
dersitis33 1 year ago
@Nighthawkinlight you said that you just used charcoal gathered from a fire pit so can i use that to make bp or would that result in poor quality?
RubixB0y 1 year ago
@RubixB0y It would make very poor BP. I have a video entitled 'how to make fireworks grade charcoal' that shows how to make quality BP charcoal.
