Zoe betrays her culture by dating a white boy. It's sad with so many authentically Black physicians, lawyers, businessmen, computer programmers, physicists, and chemists that Saldana, who is only partially Black herself, cannot find strong Black males of color who are not only more attractive but far more intelligent than white boys.

You know she has puerto rican and dominican background, even though she was born in NJ. As a dominican myself, I can tell you is VERY common in my country to have "interracial couples". We are white and black and mixed, but we all share the same culture, we don't divide ourselves like americans tend to do.

This is the Caribbean, you can be born with white skin but with time and walking enough in the streets we all easily get tanned. Once again, everything is not black and white for us. I'd never heard of Zoe Saldana before this movie, AVATAR.....but I really must say :
EXTREMELY impressive work by both her and Sam Worthington. This movie transported me back to my childhood years....when the majority of my time was spent with my head buried in a fantasy novel....and to think that I'd just begun to lose faith in modern cinema's ability to recreate that magic I felt all those years ago....and it goes beyond just technology.

I fell in love with her Avatar character. She was so human. Her emotions were so natural and human. Many American women have lost this earthy emotion because they are distracted by materialism and disconnect families.
Seeing her in the making of avatar and giving this performance with all expresssions emotions etc and just standing there with this suit on in a empty room with just camera's shows how much acting skills these actors have, i read some comments on that the acting wasn't that good......these people had to imagene the world completly and pulled of a hell of a job.

From what I have seen of the trailers, the feelings that are conveyed from Zoe's character; I feel that she should be nominated for an oscar, along with 'Facial Expressioneers' that lended their professionalism to create the awe that is Zoe's character.
I agree. The work that it's put in this film by Zoe and all the actors plus James Cameron of course, it's more that exceptional and it deserves all the Oscars in the world. Although I haven't seen it yet, I'm sure that Avatar will not disappoint.
