What makes you fall asleep, earns others loads of money... Not everyone likes spending time with kids... after retirement, perhaps, one would need time to feel irresponsible for how they spend their time... (in a way that one won't be responsible as when making a new business, and responsible to pay employees so they provide for their family)
Mr. Lipsyte said its an excuse to 'avoid your spouse'. In my opinion, one could do the same by 'making research for a tv show by surfing over the internet (or any other media) and spending long hours in the office or locked in the home studio. It should be HIS OPINION, not what HE SAYS. With all respect towards Mr.Lipsyte, who is he to Say?
