I've been trying to install 10.6.2 Snow Leopard (Hazard edition) on my D810. There's a fair amount of info on how to get Leopard 10.5.6 running on these Dell laptops, but info on Snow Leopard is sketchy at best.

I just bought this computer and all I have is one question. What do I need to do the exact same thing you did? LOL. Awesome video. The music makes it kinda cool like yeah..... it's possible! I have another question though. Can you switch between the two operating systems at will? I've installed OSX on this laptop about 4 times now and I have never been able to get the wifi to work .everything else works though... do you know how maybe i could get it to work?

I am using an ipc osx86 10.5.6 installer disk and it just freezes on the loading screen, It seems to load for a bit but then the snowflake freezes... I am using a Dell latitude d610 2.0 ghz intel pentium M. Can anyone help me?

@budyboy4404 I am now closer, I switched to iDeneb and now all I'm having trouble with is choosing the appropriate patches, as after I install, It just gives me either: still waiting for root device, or incompatible processor.

Well, I've got one of these, but it's the school's. I'm going to back up the entire system on a bunch of CD-R's before I do all this. I have a question.

Can you dual boot?

'Cause that would be simply fantastic. Like can I format everything, install Mac, then create a partition for Windows too? Or can I do all this before-hand? (i.e. create a FAT 32 & HFS+ or whatever partition in a single blow)?

In short, I just wanna know if & if so, HOW to dual boot (XP). Thanks!

@geminicouture44 Hmm hmm You can't install Windows programs on Mac. You'd have to buy the game all over again, except the Mac version, released by Aspyr. However, that's a waste of money 'cause you should just dual boot back into Windows to play your Windows games anyway

1. I have a Latitude D810, will the same procedures used on the D610 work on my D810 (they look identical)?

2. The main purpose for me to Hackintosh my D810 is to use the iPhone SDK to try and create some apps. Do you know if I'll have any issues with attempting this?

i have that computer still, its collecting dusk, i'm too afraid to turn it on. One month from buying it both neck clips broke. I returned it and got a new one. 2 months in, both USB ports die, i'm out of my 1 month warranty, now its been 5 months, i have a PCMCIA card for usb 2.0, had to reinstall XP... twice, and the neck is showing signs of breaking... again. Finish it off with my wireless card slowly breaking and intermittent blue screens of death and damn. Then i bought my Acer Aspire 5732z.

I have a D610 with the ATI card working nicely too at 1400 x 1050 but I can't use Front Row (only dark blank screen) and iWeb doesn't show any themes or anything at all in the pages. Any idea? I upgraded to 10.5.8 and still the same. Nice video.

Actually, I really like both of Windows and Mac. The machine to the right of my iMac is a Quad Core running windows with 8 gb ram and two Radeon 5770 in crossfire. I have Windows 7 running on two 15K Sata drives running in Raid 0 and it is way faster than any of my macs. I will say that the software I use for Video and Picture editing is better on the Mac but I game and do business stuff on my WIndows machines which I did not showcase in the video.

1. Using a retail DVD with boot 132

It looks like my laptop will finally be able to run OS X. Gma915 is working, ALC260 has serious work going on over at Insanely Mac, And Project Camphor looks like Intel 2200 wifi will work very well soon. :)

If you set it up to dual boot, then I don't see a problem. I would not expect to see your files in your vista hard drive if you do this. I would also think that you have to use gparted partition program to repartition your drive and to create a second partition that is MAC Compatible. Another way of doing this is with symantec Ghost. Easier and quicker too. Make an image to a network drive, Clean the disk and repartition to your liking and you should be good to go.

What are the specs for your Dell? Also, do you have to buy the Leopard OS separately?

The Specs for this Dell are on the "How To" in the description. It is the run of the mill laptop with nothing spectacular. The only variation from what is in that description to what I have now is I use a Broadcom Wireless Mini PCI card instead of the 2200. Yes, I have other Macs but I did buy a separate License (Disk) for Leopard. I believe in this OS and can do most things easier on it than with XP. This OS is cheap in comparison. Good Luck.
