Sure the mines pays good but at what cost?

They used up my husband who was an underground coal miner for 30 yrs. Then when he was injured they threw him out like yesterday's garbage.

They're doing our land, water and communities the same way. If we don't do something to change our mono economy this state won't be here long. I'm for renewable energy jobs and responsible union, underground mining. Being responsible means those mines don't dump their poison waste into our steams and communities!

The proposal we're putting forth is not just preserving the mountain for a wind farm, but also to expand underground mining, which would create hundreds more coal-mining jobs for local miners than the strip-mining would. And when the coal is all mined out from the mountain, there will still be jobs available with the wind farm. This is a proposal to preserve your future, and the future of all those who will follow you. I beg you reconsider and support this project.

how about please don't take my clean water and clean air to breathe. You don't have the right to have an easier life than me just because you have so much child support to pay. Everyone has bills to pay, join the club-- and you can't put a mountain back--you should be demanding a diversified economy for this area rather than begging for your current job. The mining industry has been responsible for more loss of jobs than any other industry in this state.

Let the coal miners work. There can be strict enforcement to make sure the mountains get put right back where they were, as the mining is being done, and the wind farms can come later. Right now, don't take our jobs away. Lord knows WV can't lose more jobs. We are high on the unemployment list as it goes. I have my regular bills to pay, plus $400/month child support to pay. I cant afford to do a lesser paying job than a coal mining job. Please dont take our jobs.
