I didn't say they were good rights (hints: communism sucks) but they are still technically "rights" because the government is allowing them, or giving them the right, to perform certain tasks.
And your right about it not being "righteous" for them to be able to snuff out your life like a candle, but your using the word wrongly. Yes, the root of righteous is "right" but it means in the sense of morality , and not someone's prerogative, like how "right" has been being used up until that point.

Ofcourse it has nothing to do with your naturally nasal voice, but you can see how we viewers get this unreasonable-but understandable-urge to remove it so your airways clear and you can breath better.
