  • & btw saying that Touge means drifting is stupid cuz Touge means Mountain Pass! Watch initial d or ask a Japanese person

  • Touge has no sort of translation but it mostly refers to mountain pass

  • hey great video just curious where your located at and where these roads are in my area we have a couple but just searching for more.

  • 240p we meet again

  • over double yellow = thumbs down!

  • Touge - For REAL drivers only.

  • true story of touge in america is that they stole it from japan.

  • gotta love the downhill

  • just so u kno TOUGE is a JAPANESE word and it originates from DRIFTING. touge however can be used in a straight up race

    but it comes from drifting

  • canyon racing is gay... so are you wannabe's (white folk)!

  • @sweetalkinpinoy obvious troll is obvious

  • are they doing it illegally?

  • @rkdude7 of course not~! It's all performed in a closed track. ;]

  • That's sick dude

  • Yah! Lets rice out our cars, drive like morons, and pretend we know what the hell we are doing! That way we can make the roads more dangerous for passionate drivers and put our already over-regulated hobby under more government scrutiny!

  • dam touge is tight i love doing it.. it's like when i touge thats the only way i enjoy life.. TOUGE FTW !

  • americans that like cornering should move to live in Eurpoe for some proper driving

  • I've owned this DVD for quite a while now, and it is great. :D

  • YES! Touge ftw

  • Any new DVD"s comming out soon??/

Love it and buying a copy right now :D

  • we have a bunch of WRC dvds coming out along w/ some other cool stuff to be announced soon so hang tight.

  • anyone know of any Japanese DVD's like these?

  • chasing the touge 2 which we might be making over there soon.

  • Thanks, but I mean like some Tsuchiya DVD's + touge.... I found a few but thanks.

  • damn, I have this DVD back on 07, lost it while moving

    overall its pretty good

  • bunch of dudes talking about how hardcore they are,.

  • FUCK Front wheel drive cars...there's no way around it...trust me when I say this, run away from those cars! Just turn and run.

  • Why is that blue and silver Falken drift car running on the streets?

  • that was a part of the pikes peak hill climb where they drifted up the paved part of the mtn. good stuff.

  • Haha that explains it. I'm pretty sure Falken wouldn't approve of running the car on the street illegally.

  • canyon running FTW!!!!!

  • i hate living in New Orleans.... our only elevation changes are in huge potholes.

  • ROFL these guys are so old....

  • lots of experience

  • Americans are into rallying now?!!

I spy Honda, Subaru, BMW - foreign cars?!!!!

Welcome to the party at last!

  • Ton of RX-7's in the video too. :D

  • wow guy, weve been into this since the 30's(maybe not professionally but ppl did it) the imports have been here since the 90's

  • I know a certain plastic pig driving trust fund baby who doesn't consider touge to be racing. Anyone else this he's full of shit? Holla.

  • while drift may have come from touge, Not all touges are won by drifting. Just because some do doesn't mean they all do. Hence drift =/= touge.

  • Touge is NOT drifting. Anyone who says it is is a retard.

They even say in the actual movie "Chasing the Touge" that it's not, and they pray that no one attempts to drift a touge.

Good movie overall. Found it for $10. haha

  • Damn you, I got it for $13. :( haha

I know people who drift it, but it's a lot more dangerous, I'm with the mini guys - you stay on your side of the double yellow.

  • anibody knows the guy @ 2:01 name back in 2005 when he driftd in his infinity G35 he was my hero

  • This is where its at!! Street racing is still fun but not liketouge runs haha

  • racing the touge is how D1 came about...before all the drivers were pro drifters they were, and still are, racing the passes in the mountains! do you think Nomura san turned pro drifter working in his a flower shop??

  • what?! so i've been working in a flower shop the past 6 months for nothing?? FUCK!!

  • it also started in the countries with alot of snow people always drive sideways with rear wheel drive, and also on gravel roads in some places, and in japan it started on the circuit with some professionnal racers drifting when they were too far ahead of everyone else, then street racers did it.

  • Or it started in the mountain's when they realized if you slid sideways it kept your RPM's up faster and could exit the corner at higher speeds than if you tried to grip it, like exactly what they say in the movie!

It didn't start on the circuit.

  • Yes it did, and drifting is not faster than grip....

  • Grip is faster with racing tires. Drifting is faster with street and sports tires. Street tires don't have the level of grip that race tires have and it is quicker to do a racing drift when on them. Racing drifts are different than show drifts and are very subtle.

Nobody knows where and when drifting began, it was coined in Japan on the circuit.

  • Agreed. Touge races take much techniques from rallying, like subtle drifiting as you said. A gentle controlled drift is better than a wild drift or a grip that will go wrong.

  • touge just a term?

    touge is mountain in japanese

    からなきい

eh.. if u wanna see drifting stick with D1

  • its the american drift/illegal mountain racing/rally movie, touge is just a term, I think the name of the movie is great but the DVD is not that bad I just bought it but a little dissapointing, too much talking not enough drifts

  • Difting 101. on steet where the cops!!!! call

    911. Take to track than race or dift. You live

    sockets .

  • dude that is SHWEEETTTTT. I played it in Need For Speed Carbon. The cannon racers were the shit!!! i couldn't possibly imagine how it would feel in real life. I do know how to drift. totaled 2 cars learning. but it was so worth it! i will try cannon racing eventually =]

  • shits hella fun. haha. find ppl who are into touge and get into it. if you're in bay area... redwood rd. is the best place for touge.

  • GO DIE

  • possibly the gayest thing on youtube

  • *rolleyes* oh puleeeese!

eh, why take the time to respond if 'you think' it's "the gayest thing on youtube." huh??

jofish13 you are the stupidest person or at least make the stupidest comments on youtube!! SERIOUSLY!!! ... i'ma guess you were touched when you were young, so if you see something that is male oriented & it gives you a 'boner', you automatically call it gay...hahahaa

  • im not into 2 lanes much, been doing it for 3 years already with a GSR and AE86, 2 lane its way 2 fast for the public roads, beides safty 1st

  • This DVD seems interesting and I give mad props to these guys, But Ive been into Automobiles since before i could even pronounce car, and I gotta say until after the whole Initial D and Drifting craze hit, I never heard of "American Underground Canyon Racing!" Maybe Id have to watch the DVD for a brief history lesson, but these guys started talkin about Drifting and even use Japanese terminology like "Touge", nor did I even here one reference to Japan in this whole trailer.

  • japanese touge is waaaay better.

  • its the same thing ive raced in the canyons and in japan when i was stationed there the only diff is locations but in japan the curves are way tighter i seen many ppl spin out at those parts wat ever floats ur boat

  • this is sick...

    i love chasing the touge...

  • oh yea i love this DVD i probably bought like 5 copies since christmas for myself and friends and fam GO LIVESOCKETS! hopefully im gonna go check out that meet in brea for the WRC showing

  • i have no clue about japanese canyons yet all i kno about them is what i see in initial d haha but i dont think you can compare 2 totally different mountain roads....haha i do heart GMR though and loved taking my MR2 up there till it died =( but i gotta say if u didnt kno anything else then the roads u are on are the best arent they? idk but maybe you'll see me up there sometime in my WRX lookout !! = ))))

  • i want that subie with the gigantic fog lights

  • "what's it like getting beat in your race car with my show car!" funny shit

  • i see clips of gmr

  • what are you talking about. USA #1! ha!

  • japanese touge racing is alot better

  • This old people must some experience. Canyon racing? Well it more like it in America. You want touge then go to Japan where's they can't build straight highways and mountain roads. But that makes it a touge with all dangerouse turns and blind curves.

  • well if the shoe fits wear it loser!

  • As someone who's tackled both a Japanese and American touge, I have to say that the Japanese Touges are alot more diffucilt and a bit more fun to drive. American touges are good, but they are too predictable and Dont have ebough Bends in them. The on American Touges are beautiful, but when your driving on a road with Cherry blossoms and all the colors of Fall, then its just Gorgeous.

  • this guy is sick of his life for a reason... di@kweed probably has never seen a japanesse road i've had D1 drivers tell me our driving is insanely fast and our touge is the same, different roads with different skill levels... fu@k tard

  • Look at my videos retard, I'll punk you on the canyons like the lame Initial D'er wanna be you are. I used a VW Scirocco back in the day. It's the car honda copied to make the CRX, look it up.

  • Listen you dipshits, people have been driving on windy roads at high speeds since before Japan had even SEEN their first automobile. The only thing the Japanese touge scene has done for canyon driving in the US is to influence the new generation of drivers up there. And by the way, touge is not a freaking verb.

  • gyrenejoe.... these kids make me want to puke.... this is why my insurance is so high dillholes who think the touge is a majical place where cars slide perfectly and always recover.... touge truck for the win....lol

  • "Japanese passes are better" - Do you always speak in absolutes? The US is several times larger than Japan and has many more thousand miles of roads than Japan, I think your statement doesn't hold water. I've been driving the canyons since the late 80's and know many who did it in the 70's and not in Japanese cars. Get over your JDM fanboyness and stop thinking that Japan invented everything.

  • fuck off everyone has their own opinion on what roads are better so what if he likes Japanese cars theres nothing wrong with that thats what hes used to just like u and ur VW my dad had one too and always bragged about it...but he stopped once i took him in my subie but still u like one thing he likes another so fuckin chill with america is best japan copies bullshit blah blah fuck off(AWD IS FUNNNNNNNN)

  • americans just copy what the japanese do. n they think they are better than the japs.

  • try japanese touge ! these so called togue i see on this prievew look weak

  • Yea... Drifting!!!

  • the americans always have to copy the japanese sheit.

  • so wat its cool and more americans like it than the japanese(soon to have car)

  • if u mean more amercians, u mean more asian americans and since japaneses are the one who came up with the idea, that means they like it more.....

  • what difference does it make? we're all car guys (and gals). who started the whole 'tuning' thing anyway? if you ask me, it started with american hot-rods...so, just chill. we're all car guys, we just do it with different cars and in different ways, be it touge, show, autox, drag, etc.

  • The Japanese came up with the idea of canyon racing? Really?

  • I've Been Looking For That DVD For A While.

  • it's available now at best buy; circuit city...etc. or you can get the og version at 247motoring.com

  • :)
