  • What would you say were the biggest differences between joe west and bricks vs. CVB? I am trying to decide between them! Why are west and bricks so much cheaper than CVB?

  • @LycheeWhore Well i lived in CVB this past year, I enjoyed it because it's extremely private, you probably won't make that many friends and party hardcore if you go to CVB though, you make the most friends at Joewest/Bricks. I mean it's possible to make friends at CVB, but you'd normally just spend most of your time in your apartment.

So yeah, CVB is basically an apartment, usually each person has their own bedroom, there is a kitchen, and sinks + 1/2 bathrooms depending on how many people live

  • @crapoo16 Thanks!! Aww... I was looking forward to having a roommate. I hope I can make some friends in my classes, then.

  • @LycheeWhore Well you'll apartmentmates, i never had a roommate and i thought it was pretty nice. complete privacy and they won't bug you, plus if you don't like your roommate you gotta stick with them, but i didn't like someone of my apartment mates but whatever, i hardly saw them. Just be more social than i was, attend some events, say hi to everyone :D. Find a friend and you can play billiards all the time for free, wish I did :\. Working on campus helped me make some friends too.

  • @crapoo16 I'm planning what to take with me to SJSU... When you were living in the dorms, did you need a water filter? Was there anything you think everyone should bring, but a lot of people overlook? Also, how did you get your printing done? In the library? Or is it way too crowded in there?

  • @LycheeWhore I didn't use a water filter, my apartmentmates had one but to be honest, I barely drank the water. Regardless filtered or not, it still tastes like crap (it has traces of calcium, making it taste like extremely watered down milk). If you have a meal plan, that won't matter much anyways, the water is still crap in the Dining Commons, but you might just fill yourself up with Jamba Juice/Tullys (yes, you walk in and order it for free), or just grab a cup and fill up from the machines.

  • @LycheeWhore my place was 4 single bedrooms,1 bathroom, a kitchen and common area. It costs more because they are single bedrooms, kitchen, and all utilities are included, so you can have the lights, water, and AC running all day... CVB without a meal plan costs about the same as Joe West and Bricks with a meal plan, so yeah I had no meal plan last year, and I had to spend lots of money buying food, but thats why I got an on campus job. They let you eat on campus for half off on days you work :D

  • CVC is definitely much nicer, I never lived there but I went to CVB after a year in Joe West. Joe West was pretty cool, I didn't chat with my floor too much though, the bathrooms are alright. I'd say the Bricks is a lot more tighter knit community. It's really up to you though. CVC is a little more private so i'd prefer that :). But if you want to go party lots! go to bricks or joe west!

  • @crapoo16 What would you say were the biggest differences between joe west and bricks vs. CVB? I am trying to decide between them! Why are west and bricks so much cheaper than CVB? Is CVB much nicer? Which did you like better?

  • @LycheeWhore joe west and bricks are like your typical dorm room and have a common bath and shower CVB and CVC are basically bigger and more spacious (cuz there's like 8 girls/guys PER ROOM) you get your basic living room-kitchen,etc, bathroom, shower, bedroom BUT CVB and CVC residents ARE NOT SPOILED. YOU HAVE TO BRING IN YOUR OWN TRASH CAN, YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER and clean up after urselves and each other. bricks i heard is fr ppl who are active and VERY outgoing

  • Thanks for the tour!

I'm planning on attending this fall too!

Which dorm building did you like the best?

  • r u from san jose?...i applied here but i still dont know if i would like to go there.

    how was the climate?

  • @redcrystalz alot of my family is from san jose so i go to SJ pretty often. the climate is wonderful and if u like sun but not too hot then san jose is perfect. you get that bay area breeze so its pretty nice.

  • @lalaloser223 thank you :)

  • @redcrystalz it gets really hot though.

  • nice tour this will help me choose for next fall

  • you didnt get footage of joe west? :(

  • @xChiNkSy i know .. :( they did not have time to tour joe west
