So many buttons, so little time. Oooh, what does this one do? WARNING, THE EMERGENCY NUCLEAR MISSILE HAS BEEN LAUNCHED FOR THE USSR. Oh shit, I'm so fired...
also it takes 2 powered generators to power the sr 71 it was made after the u 2 spy plane went down if a missile is being shot at the sr 71 it doesn't deploy flare it goes faster to out run the missile you have to be fit and have a wife to fly the sr 71 but the sr 71 was cancled the plane is in a mumesam
the black bird goes mock 3.4 its takes 100 milles to make a u trun a simple tooth pick can knock you out that fast the sr 71 has no wepons its for spying its a 2 man craft one uses the camera on it and the other flys it cant stay in the air long and when it takes off we cant make a seal for the gas so when it takes off the oil leaks on the run way when it gets in the air it refills with another plane then when it goes mock 3 the seal seals it self when it lands the sr 71 is shaped diffrent
Judging by the looks of the cockpit that seems almosto impossible to filght! And i tought the Concord had too many controls. A huge amount of those controls are made automatically nowadays. Thanks Intel! AMD you are ok too...
Thanks for posting the video. Been wanting to show the sim to people, but didn't take my camera to the museum. Thanks also for mentioning Joe Ciganek in the other video description. This sim is in the condition it is today because of the great care he gave it at Edwards AFB. Rich Graham went to great expense trucking the sim to the museum. Everyone should buy a copy of his book "Flying the SR-71 Blackbird - In The Cockpit on a Secret Operational Mission" The proceeds support this simulator.
Notice that all the instrument dial faces are round and analog==the A-12,YF-12 and MD21 , had tape silde gauges which where very popular in fighter A/C during the early 1960's .
@MeyerLink89 this plane would be considered a "spy plane" and it can take pics from it's cruising alt, and they are in such hd you could see a licence plate off a car!!!
This footage was shot at the Frontiers of Flight museum at Dallas Love Field Airport in Dallas, TX USA, which is the home of the SR-71 Simulator (the one and only!)
They had it closed off this year. I guess it was because there were more people there for the Wings of Freedom show than anything when the bombers come. Still, the best jet in the world, born in the time of great aviation advances.

which button arms the missiles?
MeyerLink89 2 years ago
SR-71 doesn't carry missiles
Goose511th 2 years ago
Yup, like Goose said, no missiles in a strategic reconnaissance plane. It's job was to outrun missiles and take pictures. :)

@BobMarkeyUGT I don't think that they allow people in that thing. I been around that a time or two, and found no one there, and it was blocked off.
