sorry to say but you are playing part of this wrong--the verse starts on C# and goes to a half step on the bass not and then to a b power chord and then to a Bb powe chord--you are dorpping all the way to a Bb right off the bat and that is why it sounds bad--check out other versions of this and you will see what I mean

I'm such a novice, lol. When doing chords like that Fm after the riff I always tried to use my middle and ring finger, instead of my ring and pinky fingers. That makes the split so much easier.
