Frank could do nothing while he was in a cutscene. However, after he's back to gameplay, it's SHOWTIME!

The funny thing about this game is that Frank's "true colours" is really up to you. You can be a saint and rescue every-damn-body from the mall, or you can be a monster and cave in every non-essential survivor's head in with a bowling ball or sledgehammer.

That's part of what makes this game so fun!

1)Yes, yes they are.

2)There were actually a crapload of people in the mall at the beginning, but most of them died when Frank was in the security room. The cultists are the ones who survived by locking themselves in the movie theatre. They later broke out.

3)When you are in the middle of a horde of zombies with nothing to believe in, you'd do anything to feel secure again, including praying to a maniac in a movie theatre.
