When they wanted to build the LHC they wanted it in the US, and they had to ask Congress to fund it but they were denied, and which is why it is in Europe. See the public funds many experiments. They arent all privately funded. Take SETI for example....You can make a donation of $100,000 and they will put up a radio telescope, and you get a plaque on it stating you donated for it. SETI is funded by donations

Sorry for the late reply. Generally if audio is taken from a soundboard and not remixed, it's on one track. Stereo sound generally comes from two or more inputs, or from a mixed track after editing. There would have been no reason to mix this as stereo, since it's just a public speaking, and it's left as monaural. This defaults, in stereo speakers, to the left channel, and that's why you hear only one audio channel.

I always have speed issues because I'm on WiFi, two floors down from my router. But this time it was taking amazingly long compared to other videos I was watching just before and just after. I think I'll blame it on Vista. I switched over to my Mac and it loaded with no problem. I think Vista has serious WiFi issues. Things take forever and my connection breaks all the time. This never happens on my Mac.
