@gittar1 Scotty Was more Pure Rock n Roll....Burton Developed Country Playing. I think he invented Chicken Picking as far as I know which involved muting the string as you bent it up the fret.....and maybe other ways of playing ..Scotty would have been influenced by older Players like Merle Travis...I would say ALbert lee was influences by James Burton....Jeff beck and Jimmy Page were big admirers of Moore and Burton

@kissfanjohn What Bull**** Elvis picked James for a reason. And look at his career before he joined Elvis. Too bad the focus nowadays is too much on his time with the king. I think his best work was with other artists. He is able to lift a good song into a great song. In my opinion GE gets a guitar lesson here. But so does everyone who plays with this great player.

James Burton is the inventor of this style no one does it better,there is a reason why Elvis got him for his shows one king recognizes another.He is one of a handful of lead guitarists that can say "you might not have heard of me But you definately have heard my picking".He's on more hits than any other player,he changed the guitar world like his former boss Elvis did.Elvis,Frank Sinatra,Joni Mitchel,Henri Mancini,Sammy Davis,Gram ParsonsRicky Nelson and the Commadores.His list is endless.
