  • here in the philippines, we have a restaurant that serves only organic plants.. it ranges from flowers (yes, they've got rose petals on the menu), fruits, and vegetables... how would you like a pizza with okra?...weird but its actually delicious and healthy.

  • Aw.. thanks for sharing this video. Been thinking on what to plant on my garden since i just moved in from my new house. Will try making this one.. very unique idea... keep it up.. :)

  • Loved it! I've been a proponent of growing food and not wasteful lawns for years....

Did a search for other videos in the series but came up blank....

  • Looks like 1 person would rather live "expensive and difficult"...

  • This was a great video. I'm composting now to start a container garden for the spring.

  • @GoingOrganic1 Thank you. :)

  • Thanks for the info. Looks of great identification of plants.

  • dandelion greens!

  • Just think how much healthier America would be if we all started our own gardens!

  • Great video and perfect idea ; ) Thank you very much for showing. Best regards Sepp

  • Thank you! I didn't know you could eat flowers!

  • Is everything that you showed in this video edible?

  • @SSanf Awesome... didn't know you could eat all that. We purposefully went out to get completely organic and heirloom and edible landscape plants, flowers, etc. Some of those I knew were edible, others I did not. I'm going to favorite this video for future reference for when we go out to get more for next season. :) AWESOME!

  • @GettingThereGreen Thank you so much. Some of the most common edible plants are very beautiful as well as nutritious. Take the humble radish. You can eat the bulb and cook the greens. But, if you let some grow, they produce pretty white flowers. Then, you can pick the young seed pods and boil them to serve with butter and a touch of salt. Since you will have a lot of pods, allow some ripen to seed because you can sprout and eat the seeds. Of course the remaining seeds are for growing next year.

  • @SSanf I didn't know coleus was edible.

  • @EdibleLandscapeDesig Google "coleus edible" for more detailed information. Thanks for watching.

  • @SSanf Thanks!

  • Well done. Very informative.

  • great advice, thanks

  • I LOVE IT!!

  • you are AWESOME!

  • Win the War against high foodprices...EAT YOUR LAWN and Shubbery

  • Great ideas in this video. I'm going to be moving into a new house next month and will be doing edible landscaping and this video along with the links you added will be very helpful. Seems like common sense to at least get something out of your landscaping if you're going to be putting so much into it (water, time, money, etc.). Thanks!

  • you should have your own garden show on tv lol

  • Thanks for the encouragement. I will be doing more videos about "Living on the Cheap and Easy" which should be fun.

  • Thanks for the video! I wish I had a yard. Maybe I can put some plants in a pot on the patio. The patio isn't enclosed though. What do you do if a stray dog pees on your tomatoes?

  • I BBQ and eat the dog's owner! Best served with horseradish sauce.

  • I miss my garden. I didn't get to plant anything this year.. what with living here in an apartment in the city.

  • That really sucks big time. No chance for some pots or planters?

  • i wish the whole world would do this

  • I think humans are just about the only creatures on earth that don't even recognize food when they see it. Incredibly, a great deal of good free food is growing right outside most people's door. Most food plants are quite pretty when planted with beauty in mind. They are great for landscaping. If everyone did this, it would certainly impact our national fuel consumption. Transporting food that can grow in your yard to you is silly and wasteful. Individuals can cut their own food costs a lot.

  • Beautiful!

  • Thank you! In this day and age, if you can get a free bite to eat right outside of your own door, it makes no sense at all to eat something that has been treated with Goddess only knows what from across the country.
