In order for the economy to be stable, the consumers need money to spend-- 'consumers' being the middle class down those who are earning the lowest wages. Tax those who are struggling, and they spend less. Business have less revenue.. less money is taxed..Government has less funds..

What did the rich do with their money? 'Hoard it'? Do you mean they stuffed it in shoeboxes or did they invest it? Do those investments go towards factories? Does some of that money go towards machinery? Does that machinery offer a job for the consumer? Or gasoline? Don't prices go down with investment? The rich are a big factor in this economy- If taxes were higher on the rich, what would be the incentive to work? Why should they stay in the US if they could pay less in taxes elsewhere?

I almost voted for Hillary Clinton, except I was barely 17 in the last presidential election. I would have voted Hillary had I been 18. I used to think democrats were all good, of course back then I was young and naive, I have to thank conservatives like Levin and Savage who set the record straight. I will vote for Sarah Palin if she runs in 2012, to me it's not about political parties, it's about voting for a conservative and it's what America needs.

How prescient. The Great One was spot on in his analysis of Obama, he knew back when he was merely a candidate exactly what Obama was and what he would do, even when a lot of conservatives thought Obama was middle of the road. He also knew that Mccain was unelectable, but even I knew that. The Republican party has not nominated a good Presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan. Hopefully that will change in 2012.

He's right. Giving loans to poor people mean that many of them are not going to be paid back. Part of the reason for the economic crisis was that the government ordered banks to make more loans for low income people. People who would not have otherwise qualified for loans. Now look, most of them are in default.
