  • Hello Hello Hello.

  • he screws up lyrics cause he is an old punk rocker drunk, living off his rebel youth fame lol....have you met him? I have, he is a pathetic mess

  • @packer7165 . He's made 2 of the greatest records ever.. give the lad a break

  • @packer7165 fuck you

  • @packer7165 He screws up the lyrics because he can, have you noticed that he uses those “messed up lyrics” on literally every live version of this song? You havnt? Thats because your an ignorant little shit packer. Get out of here.

  • @packer7165 Not a particularly sensitive way of putting it, but you're probably right. Can't say I like how people have torn you apart over simply speaking your mind. Plus if you have met him you're certainly in a better position to criticise than these tossers.

  • This is fucking dope and I love The Clash but in the first verse he says "see we aint got no highs, except for that one with the yellowy eyes" but that is supposed to be in the second verse. Then he says it again in the second verse. Just something I noticed, I'd do the same thing if i were a lead singer all the time...forget lyrics and such

  • @shtty17 You can kinda get away with it. The singer isn't supposed to be performing the song exactly like it's on the album, otherwise you would just listen to the album. They can add improvised lyrics and makes song much longer than they usually do.

  • Even though I am a devoted metal head, this song has the greatest bass line of all time.

  • I SAW THEM IM 69 JOE IS THE BEST

  • @1GatoNegro 69?

  • wat the hell is that at the beginning?! its sick

  • how can i get this gig?

  • @SivarRude ....well basically what you do is, you get a time machine and warp through the fabric of space itself, then come out on the other side, in the middle of this.

  • @invictorium ok, my english sucks, i say the complete video of this gig x__x

  • Here's a secret: take "Dead End Street" by the Kinks. Play the intro notes for twice as long, and amazingly..it becomes the intro to "London Calling". And guess what - with the exception of some minor differences like that, the whole song structure, length and all is basically the same. Despite being a Clash fan, dare I say that's why it's so great: it owes a lot to Ray Davies' songwriting. In their defence though, I will say that this is the best use of a Kinks-rip ever.

  • best band ever...... ABSOLUTELY!

  • i've got the album since i'm 12 !! and i love it obsiously

  • Where?

  • pity this generation cant make music like this!

  • @iliketowatchsowhat I think there's some really solid younger bands out there today.

  • @CraigPlaysGuitar Where?

  • @iliketowatchsowhat New York, Philly, New Jersey, Gainesville, there are good younger bands everywhere.

  • @iliketowatchsowhat they can

  • @bobyoung53 The one at Shea stadium is a good deal slower in my opinion, and it doesnt stop the from being completly insane

  • la única banda que importa

  • In the late 1980s I used to have to drive an hour to another town and hope that maybe one of the record shops hadn't closed and had some bootleg videos of the Clash that they were selling for under $20. Kids today don't know how easy they have it! ;-) Can't believe I'd ever be saying that!

  • @willerror Yeah.. the little twats don't appreciate anything.

  • いまから28年前、中3の冬に流れた、NHKヤングミュージックショー!オッサンになった今も鳥肌が立つ。

  • am I the only one who thinks this version is too fast??????

  • @steveknight ok, just asking

  • この映像日本のテレビで流れたのかなあ

  • saw them in 82 in san antonio with stevie ray vaugh. combat rock tour.are you kidding what a time to be alive.

  • and after all this won't you give me a smile?

  • saw them , It was magnificent.. Wow what a band

The best I have sen in a long time

    I am glad I am 48

  • @Wlopez62 you are so lucky to have lived during all this great music. all of my generations music is overproduced and auto tuned crap. i truly envie you.

  • @TheMusicalmasquerade , There is plenty of good music , you just have to listen hard ! and if not make it yourself!

  • @Wlopez62 yeah, i know there is some, but not as much at all. the stuff that is popular, like the black eyed pees, is awful. the chick butchered sweet child o' mine. i bet slash was thinking "if i wasn't getting payed, i would so unplug these talentless peices of shit" they can't even sing, they just fix their songs up in a studio with autotuning.

  • @Wlopez62 48 years old with 48 "likes"! :)

  • @Wlopez62 awwe im jelous :(

  • @Wlopez62 You lucky bastard :D

  • mamaneverlovedme, the intro comes from the movie For a few dollars more, and is written by Ennio Morricone.

  • It´s amazing how they sounded live. It was ever better watch them live than sit in your house and put their album... Another thing that I loved was the Punk-Reggae fusion they used to play letting the world know that there was not differences...And the best of all: They sing in spanish even though they didn´t do it very well, but at least it was understandible..... That is why The Clash is the ONLY BAND THAT MATTERS!!!

  • 本当にかっこいいな、クラッシュ。

    中三のとき。

  • Does anyone know where the intro music is from?

  • @mamaneverlovedme Intro by Ennio Morricone

  • It's called '60 seconds to what?' We use it for all our gigs too!

  • Where to find this concert ???

  • Amazing pals.

  • classic bassline

  • I always thought that the hook sounded remarkably similar to "Dead end Street" by the Kinks

    Both great tacks

  • wow ive heard both songs and i never really thought about that but it does sond pretty similair

  • the best clash song guns of brixton!! i love it!

  • that one is different frum all the others thas why its so cool

  • it's sure that is in japan

  • what's the name of the tour?

  • Far East & Australasian Tour

  • london calling!!!!!!...R.I.P Joe...

  • my dad says that he saw clash live and they sucked live but had great energy and that it was crazy... this isn't how i pictured it.....when was this just wondering?

  • this isn't really indicative of their typical energy live. It was in 1982 and the wheels were off the bus at this point

  • R.I.P. JOE

  • he is singing you fucking moron.

    grz clash!!! grz joe...

  • MsGORGONS, you should be dead

  • Poor Joe looks like he was tour fatigue. He must have played this song 1000 times by then.

  • Definitely the best live version I have seen.!!!

  • well john graham mellor's having a blast over in strummerville right about now, nobody'll forget him in a hurry though.

  • at 4:03 he clearly forgets the words hahaha but i have to say this is probably the best live version ive seen

The Clash - Still the only band that matters

  • jajaja

    Joe:: Whats next ???

  • people in tokyo rock the clash ? hells yeah

  • I love how you can barely hear Joe's guitar but without it you know it wouldn't sound the same :)

  • TRUE

  • i think it's because JONES was so so loud...Strummer said he always had to yell not sing cos' JONES was loud. Only in BIG AUDIO DYNAMITe, MICK understood there was a VOLUME control on his guitar amp ahhahh

  • Sergio Leone the best!

  • what's your problem asshole

  • THIS IS AMAZING

  • webos a todos

  • at first i thought london calling was about an apocalypse in london but it happens to be centered on the nuclear meltdown in pa some years ago. Awesome song!

  • or its both!

  • my mom was in a mosh pit and got dragged out by police coz she could not breath

  • The Live punk scene!

  • I love the clash, i have this album, AN ORIGINAL PRINT, my dad bought it in 1979 when it came out!!!

  • Take a wild guess Mr Oblivious.

  • "London Calling" is a song from the double album London Calling by the U.K. punk rock band The Clash; it is also the album's first track. This apocalyptic, politically charged rant features the band's famous combination of reggae basslines and punk electric guitar and vocals

    Wikipedia

  • Um...stylistically the Clash grew beyond punk so fast that you could probably argue that it's not merely 'punk.' But the Clash defined punk and made it more than a stylistic movement, so in a way, all of their musical projects are at least a little punk, especially if you take into context what they were saying through their music; Sandinista was a big middle finger in the face of their record label. How punk is that???

  • True. I only know a few of there songs that are purely punk but yes there still a punk band with meny different styles.

  • awesmoe band, bring this stuff back!!!

  • I find it funny how you can judge The Clash so easily by saying 'they suck live' when clearly you yourself have never seen The Clash only a video on the internet.

    How sad.

  • What a great intro.

  • yea this version is too quick, the studio version is amazing

  • dude dont be dis'n The Clash

  • STFU and GTFO!!! Anyone dissing the Clash is an idiot with no musical sense what so ever and no one gives a shit what you think if you have something negative to say about them!

  • you sir are a cunt we are all entitled to an opinion so fuck off

  • FUCK OFF YOU BROS FAN

  • Wow you suck

  • Prefer the CD Version to be fair

  • I prefer the live versions to the cd version because they've got THE FIRE in them. The cd version is more like a funeral march. Brilliant. Thanks for posting.

  • anybody who knows the intros name? I know its Ennio Morricones, from a few dollars more, but can't remember its name... Something like 60 seconds to *something*?

  • its called la resa dei conti

  • 60 seconds to pray .. i believe it was

  • if i ever go on tv i want an intro like that wow

    lol

  • Classic!!!

  • Wow...some intro?

  • They did this intro for "Live in Hong Kong" which is an Amazing bootleg if you ever find yourself in possession of it.

  • なんなんだこの適当なテロップは・・・

  • amazing!!!!!

  • One of the great moments of my life was seeing them at a very hot Aragon ballroom in Chicago Aug 82. They used the same spooky intro, then London Calling & I thought the floor was going to cave in.

  • soooo0o0o0o0o0 PUNK

    i wished ide been there

  • Don't think that intro was really necessary. Fantastic, frenetic performance. They knock the balls of the Sex Pistols.

I think it's fairly obvious where Pete Townshend got his '80-'81 wardrobe from, but, shit, they stole enough from him. Quid pro quo.

  • yeah dude!! :D that's ma' man right there!!

  • why does it matter? they're the clash, mate! generic labels are for the american middle class and windows media player.

  • RIP Joe Strummer

  • Hey ThreeYeti...fuck off and die you shit eating maggot!
