  • Thank You!

  • Eradicating... Wtf???? You'd better USE it instead of KILLING it....

And wtf, you dont run naked in a bush with mean leafs, douchebags...

Few times i held it bare hands, i even made a trumpet out of a green one i never had problems....

I even have a badass didgeridoo made out of this amazing extaterrestrial plant...

Stop complaining and use your brain. You just have to handle Hogweed during rainy days and you can use it as an ally.

  • That stuff sucks, across the road there was a freaking forrest of it:/

  • I want whoever fucking brought that thing to europe like an idiot to be fucking SHOT. That monsterous plant belongs in china.

  • I remember in the scouts came across a massive plant many said was Hogweed some1 tried whacking this with a stick it broke the stick in half. Never realised having sap until couple of days later someone noticed a blister on my arm even though I wasnt very near to it. Sap may of squirted by whacking it.

  • Current Earth = blue and green, Future Earth = blue, white and dead.

  • were all going to die!!!!!!

  • repent to Jesus, Jesus loves you

  • I hate all big plants like that! It looks horrible. When I see it even when I´m watching this video i feel a fear. And it realy can hurt you!

  • did you see all the seeds fall in the water when it was cut down

  • they infiltrate each city with their victim warning odor. It's best to strike by night when they are defenseless because they all need the sun to photosensitize their venom.

Still, they are invincible!! They seem immune to all out herbicidal battering!! and now their seeds are preparing for an onslaught threatening the human race!!

  • @BeondaPale , hey you can learn something new every day listening to early Genesis.

  • BURN IT!!!!!!!!

  • @OMGWTFMUFFINS nooooooooooooooo!!!! did you ever hear about what happens when you burn poison ivy? it makes toxic smoke that burns your lungs out!

  • photo-phyto-who's-a-what-now????

  • Has anyone noticed that as she is cutting, seeds are falling and then when it hits the ground, it lands near a creek. The impact sends seeds scattering and right into the creebad wher they will be spread downstream and the battle continues.

  • umm i dont get it. why is she shakeing the crap out of the weed sending the seeds flying all over the place. and shit when it fell over i think i seen most of the seeds shoot into the creek. yup these guys/girls realy are pro's

  • When she cut it down it fell into the water. NICE!!!!!

  • Giant Hogweed LIVES !!!!

  • there now in Ontario! no joke :(

  • I for one welcome our new plant overlords and remind them that I would be an invaluable individual, providing water and fertilizer, should they spare me from their blinding and burning sap of oppression

  • More people should know about this kind of thing. The way things are going, we may all have to start studying how to grow vegetables and we'd better know what plants are dangerous.

    Good post.

  • They are invincible... They seem immune to all our herbicidal batteries!

  • @sickplant You do realize that this isn't a plant.. it's a weed.. and weeds are pron to take over large masses of arena and cause nothing but problems for other plants to grow. If this plant gets into natural water ways and into our crops, it could cause a huge problem for our health. Trust me, somethings in life are better left to be rid of.. We still have dandy lions, so be thankful.

  • woooooow

  • This is going to be everywhere in BC just like blackberries, english ivy and holly trees because people are too stupid to do anything about it.

  • Holy crap!

  • I though this thing came form f*****g russia

  • @bmxismylife123 thats what i hurd to.....

  • @bmxismylife123

    It IS from Russia (Caucasus),

like in the song "Return of the Giant Hogweed".

    The video got it wrong.

  • Learn something new every day!

  • You guys should seriously listen to the song "The Return of the Giant Hogweed". people have been quoting it throughout the thread, but it's a classic.

  • @GenesisFan01 I know! Genesis ROCKS!

  • Alot of plants can cause the same phototoxic effects. Even limes and lime juice will do the same thing. My parents are doctors, and they told me some stories of bartenders preparing drinks containing lime juice in the sun, only to have their hands blister up and do the same thing. Pretty nasty stuff.

  • 0:24 is like an intro to one of those uber-low-budget horror films from the 50's

  • holy cow! never heard of this plant before. I've seen photo sensitive reaction burn skin, but I never thought anything in nature did that.

  • TURN AND RUN! NOTHING CAN STOP THEM!

  • Nah. You can strike by night. They're defenseless. They all need the sun to photosensitize their venom.

  • damn

  • just burn it^^

  • @Ahrisss yeah, but what if it causes a fire in your garden or forest?

  • Apparently roundup or Brush-b-gon will kill this plant.

Ive heard that cutting the stalk and pouring a small amount of diesel fuel into the hollow stalk will also destroy the root system. ...but that might not be too popular in North Van :)!!!

  • fashionable country gentelmen had same cultivated wild gardens in wich they inocently planted the giant hogweed .

    Aracleum montegazzianni

  • and where´s genesis???????? :DD

  • But even if you kill them their seeds will spread... and then we'll have the Return of the Giant Hogweed!!!

Those poor fools who brought it here, cultivating it in plant nurseries... it was indeed a nursery cryme.

Someone should write a song about this...

  • @Eldarrugby got that rite dude

  • @Eldarrugby There is a song, its called:

Return of the giant hogweed - Genesis

  • @Eldarrugby There is a song, its called: Return of the giant hogweed - Genesis

  • @Eldarrugby you are actually epic! best comment i have ever seen!

  • Pour some alcohol on it and burn it. That's what I do to bag worms in trees.

  • piff get out the weed killa bro

  • man ive about these plants and i got burnt from one of these :'(

  • Leave the bloody plant alone and it will leave you alone! You wouldn't mess around with a puff adder would you? where will it end? What about Vibirnum? Nettles? Tomatoes??? Potatoes????

  • now a person with a brain would normally take a bath or shower after doing something like that

  • lol i just got this a week ago doctor says i was lucky could have been blinded

  • these weeds creep me out

  • Some guys in here don't have a fuckin clue about our home botany. Neophytes like the Giant Hogweed are growing all other the home botany. also sunflowers, potatoes, maize and many many others are so calles neophytes and noone complains about them..

Simply leave the natur and giant hogweed alone enjoy its beauty and dont to touch it.

or would you eat fly agaric if you know that its toxic...?!?!?!

  • Damn Victorian explorers. Always taking dangerous plants from the Russian hills and then planting them in the royal gardens Kew. The Giant Hogweed will have its revenge.

  • yes damn explorers!! most of the weeds in the uk are what they brought back and then they escaped!!! but i would'nt have a job because of them, maybe they wasn't that bad lol

  • Yeah, you're right. Mighty hogweed is avenged, human bodies soon will know their anger, killing them with their hogweed hairs.

Still theyre invincible and immune to all our herbicidal battering.

  • You have to strike by night! They're defenseless, they need the sun to photosynthesize their venom!

  • Still they're invincible,

Still they're immune to all our herbicidal battering!

  • @mkultra2300 "Mighty Hogweed is avanged. Human bodies soon will know anger"

  • When i first started landscaping, it wasn't know what the plant could do, we used to strim it down and think nothing of it, now after 30 years in the trade, i still have the scars, whenever i let sunlight get to my skin, the blotches can be seen, still after all these years, this plant need total respect at all times :)

  • I knew a guy once who touched that sap when I was a lot younger. And his skin went all blotchy and horrible. I remember his mum seeing it and panicking. My parents seemed to know a lot about what it was though. The pigment didn't go away for quite a long time.

It was a shame really. Poor boy didn't deserve that, even if he was an idiot.

  • Very good video, i'm a hogweed hunter from the uk, people here still don't know how dangerous this plant is.

But with weed management it is coming under control.

  • A hunter uh? You should strike by night!

When they are defenceless, all tehy need is the sun to photosensitize their venom.
