actually the whole concept of Nigredo (the darkening) Albedo (the whitening) and Rubedo (The reddening) is a very old concept put forth in alchemy that explains the cycles all things must go through to truly realize perfection. Its an actually really interesting concept. The witcher also took this concept since it was so heavily based on alchemy as well.

at first i was surprised as all hell when albedo had enough power to remove the zohar which wasnt supposed to be able to be moved

alubedo doesnt die he only looses his body and lives in rubedo untill he gets enough power back
