on the second day after first training every muscle on arms and legs hurted :D recently we went to another city to other kendo club there i tried on armor :D on me and my friend (she's girl too) it was like big-to big cos' in that kendo club they got only big armors ( well of course thay have, they all are guys XD ) And in that Man I couldn't hear anything unless the speaker was in 2m radius XD But aside discomfort Kendo is very cool and fun... Sorry for my bad english :)
Kendo rock's :D Well I started kendo 2 month's ago cos' I just love japanese thinking and phylosophy ))) Ofcourse it dosen't look as hard as it sound's but it is and like hell XD Maybe it looks to me cos' 1. I'm a girl (but I don't think it's the main reson) 2. I haven't trained any martial art's ever before 3. I have bad physical training XD Well I got blister on the left hand and foot XD
Try being 7th Kyu and taking on someone much bigger and better then you, its much harder to do then you think. Still its very very fun to spar against someone your own level, especially your friends and with all the armour of course.
I started kendo 3 months ago and it is very difficult technically. I've been practicing other martial arts for 22 years, I am in a really good physical shape, and still, its very difficult. Looks easy because these guys are probably training for many many years.
i passed my examination for the 6th kyu last week and begin training in my bogu this week...
its quite hard indeed but i had a lot of help by some unbelieveable senseis (yasuka and okamoto :D ) on our yearly gasshuku making me understand what the hardship of kendo is all about!
That 's not a "sticks"

That looks pretty cool. I just bought a pair of Kendo bamboo practice swords.

erhm it's not meant to look "cool"
its a way to disiplin your body by practicing hard and with an empty mind to surpass the grief of fighting itself!
maybe too philosophical... but this is what it is!

I find that cool. :D

Lolismad 3 years ago 3
@Lolismad I practiced judo for 8 years and now I'm practicing Kendo for about half a year and I can tell you Judo is so much easier than Kendo :)

i didn't even say that... I said that It doesn't look as difficult as it sounds, what i've heard from ppl training.
Lolismad 2 years ago
Sorry, I mis-quoted!
It is very hard though, you never master it, you learn all your life.
Beckettlol 2 years ago
@Beckettlol ye, too bad the nearest kendo club is over 2-3 hours by train....
Lolismad 2 years ago
@Beckettlol True, You never do master it. There is always something to learn, as in any martial art,
