  • What a great video.

I'm writing my exam on this subject and this video really helped me out.

thank you very much for this upload :D

  • Great Who teach the human what he did not knew

  • First I'm a 110% Born Again Christan see here.

    So my View point.

If the proceedure does not involve the Child inside a Mothers body. You go right ahead, but not growing any for of human life that could feel pain or even be callewd a baby in any way. A mother become with child, after anytime where it could be detected in anyway. It is a child, it is a child. Now there is a thin line between here of the 2 as life or not. So Leave Mother out of the Picture and go right ahead to a point.

  • There are advances which no longer need embryos to be destroyed so that cells can be harvested :)

  • You only need 1 embryo to spawn an entire master line for millions of treatments.

  • I really wish stem cell research was continued. I would of helped alot of people. I don't care how immoral it was.

  • In-vitro fertilization and birth-control are _essential_ to _daily_ medical practice? Wow - I guess, if you go to the doctor because you have the flu, he'll have no choice but to artificially inseminate you, since - for some reason - no daily medical practice can take place without in-vitro fertilization.

  • Isn't what this video advocates, by definition, unethical? They wish to create 'fertilised eggs' - i.e. human life; and then destroy it by harvesting the stem cells. If it wasn't human life, then there would be no stem cells to harvest, right?

  • If thats what it takes... its not like scientists are killing babies or actual people (out of womb). They are simply killing the potential of what that person could be. I think of it as transfering life into another person so that they may be healed.

  • The time-line for human life begins at conception. To 'kill the potential' or to 'transfer the life', as you put it, amounts to the same thing surely - Death.

    How can this be right?

  • but death is just as natural as life. You may not realize this but people as well as any living creature on this earth feed off the living in order to survive. We don't eat rocks, we eat meat, and plants which are living things made of cells and not matter. I truly understand why this is wrong, but I strongly feel that benifits outweigh the doubts.

  • What about the 'benefit' of allowing the newly conceived life to be born into the world? What contribution might that person not make? Isn't this the point - that every human being from the moment of conception is unique and priceless - not an object to be used and discarded?

  • am studying regenerative medicine

    its really interesting

  • this is very interesting...we talk about some of these issues on our Cellmedicine channel

  • i think and others may agree that my cells and maybe if i am married the cells of my wife belong to us and we many do whatever we want with them. what if in the future i decide with my wife that i want to harvest MY cells and produce stem cells i think we have the right to do that after all not every egg is fertilized and certainly not every sperm is used. and it is your body and you are not harming anyone. what are the implications of healing people not many except alot of happy people.

  • Iwould like to burn this video on a CD but don't know how to do this? Can someone give me a step by step process? For example how and where do I save it etc...

Also where should I look for a response?

  • Stem cell therapy is explained at the Cellmedicine channel here on youtube. You should check it out. Clinical and preclinical evidence.

  • Speculative at best, this video presents much misinformation. SCNT cannot produce human embryonic stem cells (hES) because it doesn't work in primates. It confuses 'embryonic' and 'adult' with pluripotency - ES are produced from cells extracted from the embryos ICM. Many 'adult' become cells from all 3 germ layers. Both have been studied since the 1960s - 1998 is when hES LINES were established. Omitting tumor formation as a defining factor of hES shows the bias.

  • dude at 10:30 they explain that it doesnt produce human embryonic stem cells maybe you should listen to the whole video before you dis or discard and tell people it misinforms them

  • 10:30 not about SCNT, and SC lines from blastomere extraction exist. Your own stem cells are NOT more likely to be rejected than foreign ones. Due to tumerogenesis, hES must be final tissue, with NO hES qualities and then they are just like any other tissue from someone else. Tumors are 70% less likely to form in xenotransplants, and the animals are bred to not reject foreign tissue. Adult and berishis can be injected, less stress for compromised patient. This piece is misleading.

  • I now understand what you are saying sorry about the previous comment

  • That was pretty classy. Thank you.

  • Dr. Murry further questioning "amazing" stories that embryonic stem cells could be transplanted into the heart across major histocompatibility and even species barriers without immunosuppression. Dr. Murry and colleagues have presented evidence that changes in tissue autofluorescence, apparently related to the flavoprotein redox state, especially in and around infarction area, and fluorescent protein expressing teratoma myocardial cells could be misinterpreted as "regenerated cells".

  • After Hwang Woo-suk, Jong Hyuk Park and Catherine Verfaillie stem cell research controversies (see "Another Stem-Cell Scientist Guilty of Misconduct. TVC Alert Research News, 12 January 2007" and related), another potential scandal is brewing in stem cell "heart repair" area. Recent paper published in FASEB Journal, February 8, 2007, from Charles Murry laboratory, University of Washington, Seattle, reports that they were unable to repeat studies from other groups.

  • This is liberal lie! Don't attention to media bought sellout sceintits! Read the only true thing - FOx News and be wary of fox in wolf clothing - liberal progressuve media and "secular" beliefs. never again e-merica! we couldnt afford you then we cant afford you know!!

  • All cloned stem cell lines are fake, investigative panel says.

Faked Research on Stem Cells Is Confirmed. THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

A panel investigating the work of disgraced scientists has found that they faked claims.

Heart "repair" studies are faked too.
