It was stupid.When I first played the game I thought there was like a hidden health bar like in CoD.So I thought if I bought soda it would heal him.I spent my money for nothing and got stuck in the game.

ahh...the dreamcast.I play blue stinger,sonic adventures 1 and 2,Shenmue 1 and 2,Illbleed,Resident evil,Tin Tin Sparky and I forget...but,now that we XBOX 360 it's much better.

@TheSegaStoner Nah. It's non-canon. Though there's a easter egg in the main game that references the demo, where you see Yukawa and he recognizes Ryo, running away.

Though,. thank goodness people realize it's only a demo. That "walking and talking only" comment riled me up.

I had the ps1 back then never bought a dreamcast but played it sometimes at my firneds house. It was a superior system and is still great today. I recently bought my own im trying to find out good games to buy ATM, but this is still a great system.

I really hated Shenmue. It was the first time (or maybe second... Soul Calibur was first) I realised that the death of the Dreamcast was robbing the world of some of the greatest gaming potential. I am yet to see consoles wit hthe potential the Dreamcast had. Lets not forget the best Arcade port ever (Soul Calibur) and the best PC port ever (Quake 3 Arena)

@CaptainMaloy1001 The game is a murder mystery set in Japan in the 1980's. You roam around Japan in an attempt to solve the murder of your father. You can react with whoever, pretty much whenever. There are fights with thugs, and QTE's (quick time events) which are fun. You can hang out in the arcades, gamble buy items while waiting for parts of the story to progress. Great music and atmosphere definitely check it out

I've seen a many videos of Shenmue gameplay on Youtube. I think this is the best one.

And ppl, please, don't forget that a 1999 year released game. Untill our days it looks great. Shenmue - it's a really masterpiece.

The game has a main plot: Trying to find the guy who killed your father (I am now referrint to the "normal" version, not "What's Shenmue") but there are a lot of sidequests you can do or you can also just free roam if you like :-). There is apparently a time limit to finish the main story but it seems to be pretty generous :-).

@azn069 Haha,I didnt actually post this video and Iv never played it but yeah. You can get a DC emulator and Im sure you could find this game somewhere. You would need a fairly good machine to run it though, it would be similar to trying to run a PS2 Emu and that takes serious power!

Off the top of my head I reckon you would want at least a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 with 1GB RAM and Directx9 graphics card with maybe 128MB memory...an educated guess

Yukawa was the Senior Managing Director of SEGA back then. He also "starred" in a few Dreamcast commercials :-).

The final game did offer Coca Cola drinks in the vending machines, but only in the Japanese release. The international versions removed this since Sega did not further licensed a deal with Coca Cola outside of Japan.
