I have to say something. A lot of people say for those who dislike this movie that they have horrible taste in movies and that they're young generation who didn't saw the classics. I'm the younger generation, yes, but I saw many classic horror movies. I don't hate this movie, but I didn't find it interesting because it was pretty boring. You can have good suspense but that doesn't work at all if nothing really happens, the suspense gets lost then.

The only thing good about this movie was seeing sara paxton. I found her stunningly attractive without any make up on. She looked so breath takingly beautiful and with her acting, also incredibly charming(deep sigh). However aside from that, this movie was horrible. The trailer is scarier than the actual movie and the story makes absolutely no sense. Wasted some well needed rest staying up for this movie.

I enjoyed the movie. It was a nice break from the gore porn everyone calls horror these days. I'm guessing most of these "stupid movie" comments are from people who like those kinds of movies.

The pounding on the door was Luke trying to get in and save Claire, Claire was killed by the ghost. They did not show exactly what happened so that we have to use our imagination, but her autopsy would likely show she fell and cracked her head open, or broke her neck or something like that. The ghosts will continue to haunt the hotel, until it's torn down, and now Claire may haunt it too.

Ok sorry for so many posts but... If you were disappointed because "nothing happened", news flash! This is what a quality horror movie is. Slow-built suspense with growing terror each minute. It is only here and there were you get a jump scare or a big surprise. If you don't like these styles of films, go watch all those crappy remakes. Sheesh.

1- Madeline for sure. You see Madeline approaching Claire slowly, closer and closer.

2- The old man was Madeline's husband.

3- Killing Claire I believe WAS necessary. Remember in the beginning when Claire mentions they locked up her body in the basement/cellar? I believe Madeline did that so Claire could see how it felt like.
