I managed to replay this masterpiece through the GBA. I always saved up at least one Hammer Suit for the last area so I can whack the lights out of Bowser and win the easy way. =P

@xsweetfeeling is it when koopa is landing or when koopa is spitting the fireball? If it's the latter, then perhaps you need to stay closer to the middle. If it's the former... mmm, not sure if there are differences in other versions like All-Stars. My video is showing the original Japanese version and I have been doing it this way ever since the game came out in 1988

This is Japanese version - the first Super Mario Bros 3 game that came to this world. Yep, this recording came from a real Japanese game cartridge with real Japanese game console.

I know what you said about the kidding phrase in the English version (coz I played it on, e.g. Wii). FYI, on this original Japanese version, what it says at 3:10 is "Thank you. Finally the Mushroom Kingdom is back to peace. The End" What a peaceful ending :>

I grew up playing the NES(FC) version so I couldn't really get used to the GBA version nor the SNES(SFC) version.

BTW, if you get hit in the Japan version (the one shown here), you become small mario immediately. So the difficulty depends on which version you are playing too.

After nearly 16 years of knowing this game, I have never ever gotten that far before (I know, I'm such a noob). Farthest I've ever went is the fortress in World 8. I always get lost in there. No clue what else is after that, except this.

Princess Toadstool looks just like she did in Super Mario Bros. 2; I love that she used to be a brunette. By the 2000's she was a blonde and changed her name to Peach LOL

She never changed her name. Her true name was always Peach Toadstool. It's only formal on the royal ladder of Mushroom Kingdom to refer to her as Princess Toadstool. The guys at Nintendo just chose not to reveal her first name until later. I don't know about the blonde part though, lol.

yep. if you are already a small mario you don't even need to duck (of course you can't even duck). the only thing is to avoid getting in touch with the fireballs coming out from him
