Viewer dirosaga posted a question here and as I was responding, I either hit the trash can icon or there was a glitch when I was trying to post. My apologies. Here's dirosaga's question and my response:
dirosaga: Forgive my frankness, but are you Indigenous to america?
Answer: It depends on whether you consider Kentucky indigenous to America! It is and I am, at least, in close proximity! If you were referring to my ethnicity, I am not Native American, as you will find in my first video.
Aho, msrainbowdance. Yes, this is a rhythm of union with Spirit, and it is sounded by many drums and many hearts around the planet. In this video, I play a lightning-struck drum I made. Thank you for writing. Namaste.
@msrainbowdance Aho Kentuckyshaman thankyou for your reply ,please can you tell me more about the rhythm of union with spirit I dont nkow much about it .Pilamaya yelo ,Mitakuye Oyasin
@msrainbowdance Delighted to hear from you again, msrainbowdance. I go into detail about this concept on a recent podcast, which you can listen to here: Shaman Drums 2.0 Podcast and Blog (It appears YouTube will not allow me to post a direct link, so all I can give you is the name. )
I hope the referenced podcast will help give you some ideas about exploring for different ways of connecting with All That Is.
Best to you and yours, and thank you again for writing..
Thank you for the prayer, i wish i could bow to you out of respect, you gave me warmth as i breathed in and cooling as i breathed out, my hands also had a tingling sensation which i can hope to feel again, i felt in tune with myself and everything else in the world, so thank you again
I really needed to see & hear that, be reminded of the whole circle, of all our relations, & of standing in the centre. I long for a drum, i am ready to receive it...so i drum the spirit drum, and wait for guidance & direction. I send you love...and i am going to watch this video often...thank you so much for making it...for your service, i pray too that my voice, body & drum be of service....and that i i have fun in the sharing:-))) xxx blessings xx
Your beautiful comment touched my heart. You honor the drum with your words and the truth of your deep spirit, and surely your longing will be honored in return. Your very presence and intentions are service to all, so may we all join in your joyful smile:) I treasure your blessings, and thank you for them. Aho.
Actually, Romanorum, shamanism is not "owned" by any one culture, as it originated in Siberia then spread around the world before there were any people in America. When people arrived here, they brought shamanism with them, as did others in most every culture that's existed since that time, including Europeans, African, Asian, etc. I know, too, that you do not speak for all Native Americans, as many NA teachers encourage their students to be public in order to be of service to all peoples.
"(replying to Romanorum) I know too that you do not not speak for all Native Americans, as many NA teachers encourage their student to be public in order to service to all peoples.."
Which NA teachers? From reports from many anthropologists many NA are quite conservative. From my personal experience I find that its true also.
@1NX9 Thanks for sharing your opinion, 1NX9. Out of respect for them, I will let the teachers speak for themselves if they wish to. I have found that some recognize a dilemma--either encourage open sharing of what is known, or hold it back and allow mis-perceptions to spread. It is obvious that some prefer the former, others the latter.
I dont know which some teachers you keep refering too???
Regardless. Sharing what they know will not stop misconceptions (let alone cultural & historic revisionists) from spreading false information. Thats where the issue of indigenious copyrights and cultural intellectual property protection comes in. Currently its still being worked out within the governement and between various governments.
Thank you for your kind comment! And thanks, too, to those below who commented. I have not checked this place for quite a while and thus overlooked the many who commented. Thank each one of you. Blessings to all. ks

@KentuckyShaman I ran out of room in the previous post. Here's the rest:
I learned Native American ways, though, from dear teachers, and incorporated them into the Celtic traditions I had previously studied.
Thanks for your question!

My grandfather made earth drums.
My father, was a stubborn man, & didn't pay attention to the wise one.
I didn't learn to make a drum, but, I sure enjoy playing the one that was made for me!

More way for people to profit from our medicine. =/
No true Native American Medicine Man/Shaman I know of actually calls themselves as such also, it's a humble and shameful path.
This will only put more plastic shamans out there. :(
