  • @gunnyranger2 - That is a common problem with monitors, and as long as you have a graphic EQ for your monitors you will be able to keep the musicians happy. After my FOH mixing the monitors end up with lots of high mid and not alot of low. Usually musicians, particularly singers are happy with lots of 250Hz which results in a powerful mix. I usually end up boosting the 250Hz range and cutting a bit of 500Hz range and leave the 3-5kHz which allows vocal clarity. I have never had a problem with t

  • i just came! sorry :)

  • I bought a VLZ PRO-16 for a 3 piece band I was playing in and the Singer quit.He was the one running it.So I bought some JBL SRX 722s/728's and some Macro-techs to run them.Well, now I need a new board, because the VLZ doesn't separate the pre-post sends. When I adjust something on the channel it automatically effects the monitors too and really pisses off the bands.Anyway I'm torn between this and the Allen/Heath Zed 428.How is the Mackie working for you and have you had any problems w/ it?

  • thats what i use good for live shows!!! and recording (:

  • direct outputs for every channel. You can't beat it.

  • how does it sound ?

  • is there a firewire option that can return all channels back to your DAW, or would 24 stereo channels just be too much bandwidth, I'm thinking of getting a 1640 with the firewire option, but how do i go about plugging into a macbook pro, as I assume the laptop harddisk won't be fast enough to write all channels.?, If not can I use an external hard disk with either 7200 or 10000 rpm, and set it up in logic, (which i don't quite yet have) to write all incoming audio to that disk..?, Thx in advance

  • I use the 1220 with the firewire option... also using an intel Q6600 quad running with 4GB ram on windows xp 64 bit. When I record in Nuendo I could do all 8 tracks (including 4 stereo) with no CPU strain. Thats at 24bit, 88.2kHz. It doesnt use up a great amount of CPU and this thing has just about 0 audible latency!

  • how exciting dude, grats.
