So who is responding back to you whence you call the satellite? Is it just an automated system?

Hi Kev.
The short answer is that I use "SatPC32" to control the radio for Doppler shift.
Half duplex so it is not the most ideal situation but the program seems to work well enough to make up for this.
I am going to make a second video demonstrating the radio and what is happening when using the computer control.

Good video. Can you tell me how you tracked the doppler shift without hearing your voice on the downlink.
