@alteco123123123 : This is a total curve ball in terms of surf sleigh rides I have heard. IT starts out with an A-G-F-E Walk, DOnt Run intro than in the main section it is a C-Am-Dm-G, like the Melody of Perfidia. The "giddy up" is based on a F#m7-B-E formula, than transposes down to Em7-A-D and the D sustains throught "These wonderful things are blah blah..." Repeat all. @2:22 this version goes into a Perfidia bridge break and key change, one step up and than continues in D instead of C.
Can someone please identify another Christmas song for me? It's "Jingle Bells". Fully instrumental. Played on a Hawaiian-style steel guitar. Fast tempo. Probably from the 50's or 60's. And it's NOT the Ventures.

@MARKYMARK2222 Indeed not the original version, but the Perfidia based drum fill bridge was pretty clever.

favirite group when when i was teenager. Thanks for the upload. are they still around?
kinatube 2 years ago
@kinatube
They sure are, except for the drummer (Mel Taylor) who passed away in 1996. His son is the drummer now.
I saw them in NY last year. Great.. as always.

AlexRGravlin, you may be thinking of "twistin' bells" by "santo & johnny", of "sleepwalk" fame.

Haha, I appreciate it, but two days after I posted that, a friend helped me identify it with some complex technology. You were right.

I think they were playing Mosrites by the time this came out (from the Ventures Christmas LP).
javajax0987 2 years ago
Hmm, release date of 2002. In that era Bob would be playing a custom guitar and Don Wilson on the Jazzmaster.
The guiar sounds match up.
Search for: The Ventures live Perfidia+ Walk Don't Run Medley.

But this was released in the 1960-1970s.

This is an interesting version that the Ventures did, by changing the keys (similar to Perfidia). It wasn't like that on the Christmas Album.
Still...great stuff. Keep playing Ventures.
