Naim won but Greek's lifting had MORE MERIT. Why? Naim was five (5) inches shorter!! More muscle per inch of height, more advantageous height to weight ratio. They don't count for official purposes but unoficially---& I can't be the only one who sees it---it DOES matter. Still Naim was hard pressed to tally more. So unoficially Valerios #1 Naim #2. Naim 2.39 pounds per inch of height, Valerios 2.2 pounds per inch of height. No "partisan" am I, Sagir's 172.5 snatch BETTER than Oleg's 175
@skirts365 yes so true, all the rule makers, hundreds of brains at world weightlifting association. We should all trust a random user named "skirts365" on youtube.
@sarmadhassan HEY I said "don't count for official purposes" what's your issue? I can express a viewpoint like anyone else; and you're the only one knocking what I said!!
@skirts365 kinda silly comparison though, naim also has a disadvantage getting the weight off the floor because his arms are so short, you could argue that naim was competing at a weight above what he normally competed at also leonidas competed up to the 77kg division, leonidas was probably much heavier after the weigh in than niam.
i remember...i was in hospital...watched on tv...naim is the greatest of all time in weightlifting history...but on this day valerios was a coequal challenger... weightlifting will miss this athletes always...
I still remember this competition from my childhood.
Congragulation Naim and Valerio. You are the best!

Imagine if Valerios was able to successfully clean that weight. Imagine the roar of the crowd, that would've been great to watch :)
